Narcotics - Vice Activity
Title
4300 Valencia Circle
Location
On January 28, 2016, Stetson Hills patrol officers assisted U.S. Marshals Service with apprehending a federal fugitive at a residence located within the Stetson Hills Division. While officers were searching the residence, they discovered a large quantity of packaged marijuana in the basement of the house. The marijuana appeared to have been harvested from an illegal marijuana grow that was set up in the basement. Detectives from the CSPD Metro, Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Division responded to assist with the investigation. Detectives recovered over fifty-six pounds of packaged marijuana.

During the investigation, detectives discovered that the tenants had unlawfully tapped into the main electrical lines that supplied power to the residence. The illegal tap was being used to supply electricity to the marijuana grow in the basement. The wiring in the basement was so unsafe, that detectives requested assistance from Colorado Springs Utilities to shut off power to the residence. All utilities were shut off to the residence until the owner of the property can make the necessary repairs to the utilities.

Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released.
