On 06/05/2016 CSPD and CSFD responded to a vehicle fire at the corner of Fetterman Dr. and Moffat Cir. CSFD quickly got the fire out and there was never a threat to surrounding structures. The vehicle was unoccupied and no one was injured. While on scene officers and firefighters observed evidence that the fire many have been intentionally set. The investigation is ongoing.

Location
On 6-3-16, Officer C. Moore was on routine patrol when he observed a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection of North Powers Blvd and Barnes Road. One of the involved vehicles was a semi-tractor trailer that was carrying multiple vehicles. The investigation revealed the driver of the semi-tractor trailer was at fault and was issued a citation for the accident. Several people were transported to area hospitals. No one was seriously injured as a result of this accident.

The Colorado Springs Police Department has been notified of a missing and endangered adult male. The male party is identified as 49 year old Charles Humes. Mr. Humes was last seen walking in the area of 900 W. Kiowa Street wearing black pants, a black jacket and a dark colored shirt. Mr. Humes is a black male, 5’10”, 150 pounds and often listens to music with white in color ear buds. CSPD is asking the public to contact our agency at (719) 444-7000 if you have information as to his location. No foul play is suspected and a photograph of Mr. Humes is available as well.

On June 1, 2016 at approximately 7:37pm, CSPD officers were dispatched to 260 N. Murray Blvd. in regards to a Robbery in Progress. Upon arrival, officers entered the home where they located a deceased adult female who was suffering from apparent traumatic injury.

The Violent Crimes Unit responded to assume control of the investigation, and is currently in the early stages of the investigation at this time.

On 06/01/16 at approximately 11:58 AM the CSPD Communications Center received a report of a robbery involving a weapon at a business in the 2200 block of Southgate Rd. Robbery Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The investigation revealed a lone male suspect entered the business and demanded money from an employee while displaying a handgun. The suspect was unsuccessful in his attempt to rob the business and left empty handed. No customers or employees were injured as a result of the attempted robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male, 26-28 years old, 130-140 pounds, with brown hair and a full beard. He was described as wearing a dark colored shirt, black shorts, and sunglasses.

The investigation revealed that at approximately 1220 hours, a suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. The cash register was emptied and the suspect left the area with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, 20s, 5’8” tall, thin build, brown medium length hair combed up in the front, gray shirt, dark pants, sunglasses, and two stars tattooed on his wrist.

On 6/1/16 at approximately 1205hrs, CSPD Officers were called to the scene of a business on the report of Robbery that had just occurred. The investigation revealed that approximately 30 minutes earlier, the suspect had purchased an item and left. The suspect then returned, ordered again and then displayed a handgun, demanded money and left the area on foot with the cash.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 30s to early 40s, shaved head, mustache, with numerous tattoos on his body including a prominent "13" on his head. He was described as wearing tan pants and a V-neck sweater.

The suspect took cash, cigarettes and also stole the clerk’s vehicle described as a silver in color jeep and fled in an unknown direction. Officers checked the area with negative contact.

Further investigation determined that excessive speed and driving under the influence of a controlled substance were contributing factors to the accident. The driver of the Chevrolet Camaro, Phillip Jensen, was taken into custody for several traffic related charges, including vehicular assault.

On the above date and time, CSPD Officers were dispatched to 315 W. Bijou Street in reference to a two vehicle traffic accident. Upon the officers’ arrival, EPSO Sheriff Deputies, who were in the area and heard the accident, were on scene assisting the occupants of the vehicle. One of the occupied vehicles was on fire, and one of the deputies used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. There were a total of four people transported to local hospitals for treatment. The east bound and west bound lanes of W. Bijou Street over I-25 were shut down for over 2 ˝ hours during the investigation. The initial investigation shows a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling west bound in the 300 block of West Bijou Street and struck a Toyota SUV that was turning left onto the NB onramp for I-25. A total of three people sustained serious injuries, but are expected to survive. The CSPD Major Accident Unit was notified and responded to assist with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing at this time and charges are pending.

At approximately 0050hrs the victim heard glass breaking outside. As she looked outside her window she observed an unknown descriptive male inside her vehicle with a cell phone for illumination. While she was on the phone to 911 she watched the suspect break the lock on her steering wheel and then drive away eastbound on Bijou toward Academy Bl.
The vehicle is very distinctive. It is a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass, brown in color with a white vinyl top. The wheels are aluminum with center cutouts.
