On 01/03/2018 at 2:57 am, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a report of a personal robbery that occurred in the 1000 block of Garner St. Gold Hill Officers investigated and determined that a male assaulted and attempted to rob another male at that location. The victim sustained injuries to his head, and the suspect fled westbound on foot. The incident is still under investigation.

On the above date and time officers of the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the intersection of S. Nevada Av. and E. Cimarron St. in regard to a automobile/pedestrian crash. Upon arrival officers found that an unidentified pedestrian was hit by a light colored SUV as the pedestrian was attempting to cross S. Nevada Av, eastbound. The SUV then left the scene southbound on S. Nevada Av. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

On the above date and time the CSPD was notified of an automobile/pedestrian crash at the intersection of S. Nevada Av. and E. Las Vegas St. and the pedestrian was pinned beneath the car.

The pedestrian was freed by members of the Colorado Springs Fire Department and transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The Major Accident Unit responded to the scene to assume the investigation. It was determined the pedestrian attempted to cross S. Nevada Av., eastbound, and was struck by a vehicle which was turning southbound from the westbound lanes of E. Las Vegas St. Alcohol, drugs, and high speeds are not considered factors in this crash.

The investigation is continuing.

Traffic in this area was disrupted for approximately an hour and a half.

E. Fountain Blvd and Jet Wing Drive

On 01/01/18 at approximately 1130 hours, a motor vehicle theft victim had observed their stolen vehicle being driven in the area of S. Academy Blvd and the Hancock Express Way. The victim had reported their vehicle stolen to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office approximately one hour earlier. The victim followed their vehicle, while calling 911 (CSPD). The victim continued following their vehicle east bound onto E. Fountain Blvd when they observed a CSPD Officer on a traffic stop. The victim stopped and told the officer about observing their reported stolen vehicle. The CSPD Officer was able to catch up to the stolen vehicle and follow the vehicle into the Fountain Springs Grove Apartments. The stolen vehicle struck an occupied vehicle that was exiting the complex causing minor damage. Two suspects exited the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. The two suspects were pursued on foot and apprehended inside the complex. Both suspects are facing charges of Motor Vehicle Theft, and will be transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Officers responded to the 2400 block of E. Pikes Peak Avenue in reference to a report of a naked male at this location with visible injuries who was reporting having been beaten and robbed. On scene officers located the victim, who reported that he was assaulted, robbed, and stripped of his clothing at a different location. The male ran to this area seeking help. The temperature outside at the time of the incident was approximately 4 degrees. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The investigation is continuing.

On 12-31-2017 at about 1855 hours Falcon Shift 2 Officers were dispatched to the area of 2600 Bannister Court to investigate a burglary in progress. Upon arrival officers were advised by the reporting party that he picked up his friend who was intoxicated and possibly on drugs and brought him to his home. This friend got up and left and walked into another home across the street. The reporting party called police and reported his friend. The suspect locked the door and refused to come out. Officers set up containment and made announcements. The suspect refused to exit. The home owner arrived on scene and provided the keys to the home and gave officers permission to enter and arrest the suspect. Canine 14 arrived on scene and officers made entry to the home and found the suspect lying on the couch in the living room. He was alone and taken into custody without issue. Suspect admitted to coming down from heroin.

On the above date and time, Falcon Division Officers were on a traffic contact in the 7000 block of N Academy Blvd at Woodmen Road when they were contacted by three parties in a vehicle. One of the occupants in the vehicle presented with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen. The male was transported to a local hospital with a serious but non life threatening injury. Parties involved stated the male had been shot by unknown suspects in either a truck or van. There are no suspects in custody at this time and there is no danger to the general public.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.

MISSING PERSON; from the Springs Ranch area of Colorado Springs. Seventy Five year old Hispanic male, white hair, last seen wearing a black vest, dark blue long sleeve shirt, gray sweat pants, dark in color slippers, a white Cowboy hat and sunglasses. He is diagnosed with dementia, functions at a 10 year old level, speaks mostly Spanish and lives on Poplar Brook Dr., near Springs Ranch Elementary school. If located please call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000. An ENS message was sent to 1/2 mile radius and also to the media to be on the lookout.


*****At 4:35 PM the missing male was found at an address approximate 1 mile from his home. The missing male was cold but otherwise ok and was returned home to his family.

Vehicle 1 was travelling southbound on S. Nevada Ave approaching E. Costilla St when it failed to maintain its lane and drifted onto the right shoulder. Vehicle 1 struck two unoccupied cars legally parked on the west side of S. Nevada Ave. The front passenger in Vehicle 1 was taken to the hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. The driver was arrested for DUI/vehicular assault and transported to CJC.
