Location
The Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a one car accident on Circle Drive, southbound near the Hancock Expressway. The investigation revealed that a white sedan was traveling south on Circle Drive, left the roadway and struck a light pole before coming to rest. The driver and two passengers were transported to Memorial Hospital. The two passengers suffered serious bodily injury, while the driver suffered minor injuries and was eventually released from the hospital and then taken into custody and charged with vehicular assault, driving under the influence of drugs and careless driving.

The Major Accident Unit Detectives responded and are continuing the investigation.

All lanes of southbound Circle Drive are shut down.

On the above date and time, Officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of Tutt Boulevard to investigate a single car rollover accident. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was northbound on Tutt when it struck the center median The vehicle then rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its roof. The driver of the vehicle was ejected, however, did not sustain serious injury. Alcohol and speed appear to be factors. Both directions of Tutt Boulevard were closed for several hours during the investigation.

Location
On the above date and time, Gold Hill Officers observed a Black Nissan Xterra in the area of S. Nevada Avenue and St. Elmo Street. The vehicle failed to yield to officers and attempted to flee the area. The officers terminated the pursuit based on the vehicle’s actions. The suspect vehicle had a stolen license plate attached and the vehicle had been reported out of Colorado Springs. The vehicle was later located by officers stopped in the area of Meadows Park, off S. El Paso Avenue, and five individuals ran from the vehicle. Three individuals, including the driver, were located in the area and taken into custody. Detectives with the Motor Vehicle Theft Task Force responded to the area and assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing at the time of this ETACS. Due to the ongoing investigation, no other details are available at this time.

On this date the Colorado Springs Police Department issued an ENS message to a 3 block radius around the address of 220 East Brookside Street #A, to conduct Community Notification regarding Sexually Violent Predator, 43 year old Raymond Hood. Glen Avenue and West Uintah Street
Location
On November 5th at approx. 7:20am, Officers from the CSPD Gold Hill Division responded to the report of an auto/pedestrian accident at the intersection of Glen Ave. and W. Uintah St. The investigation revealed that seven members of the UCCS Cross Country team had been legally crossing the street when a vehicle turned into them striking two of the runners. The vehicle then fled the scene prior to police arrival. Both runners sustained minor injuries and were able to continue their runs after the investigation. The suspect vehicle was described as a full size white pick up truck, possibly a Dodge Ram or a Chevrolet. The truck may have had Indiana license plates though that is not confirmed at this time.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is on Accident Alert status as of April 16, 2015 at 6:11PM due to road conditions. Drivers are reminded if they are involved in a traffic accident with no fatality or injury requiring medical attention, no driver involved is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and no damage to public property such as a street sign or utility pole has occurred, drivers should exchange information and follow the procedure for completing a counter (cold) report. Drivers can either pick up a traffic accident report form at any of the police department substations or they can go on line at Springsgov.com and go to the CSPD homepage/Forms & Documents/Counter Reporting. Drivers should also be reminded to take the appropriate steps to avoid being involved in a traffic accident during adverse weather and road conditions. Drivers should check road and travel conditions before heading out and leave more time to get to their destination. Drivers need to travel at a safe speed for the conditions and leave an increased and safe following distance from the vehicle in front of them.
