Location
On the above date and time officers of the Gold Hill Division were dispatched to the 7-11 at 8th and Cimarron on a reported disturbance that possibly led to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted the female victim, who had suffered a cut to the hand. Investigation revealed that the suspect and victim knew each other, and were meeting for the victim to return some property to the suspect. When this exchange took place, the suspect allegedly cut the victimís hand before fleeing the scene. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is continuing at this time.

On 09/09/14 at approximately 0650 hours, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a 911 call from a female party stating she is driving in her vehicle trying to get away from her husband who was chasing her in his vehicle. The victim was traveling eastbound on Woodmen Rd approaching I-25 when officers located her. Both vehicles were stopped in traffic and officers gave several verbal commands to the suspect to exit but he remained in his vehicle and did not comply. The victim drove away from the scene trying to get away from the suspect however the suspect drove away and chased after her. Officers pursued the suspect to prevent him from chasing after the victim but he refused to stop. Both vehicles again stopped due to traffic on Woodmen Rd and Academy Bl. A marked patrol cruiser was able to partially move in between the victimís vehicle and suspectís vehicle preventing him from continuing to chase her. Officers gave verbal commands for the suspect to exit his vehicle but again he did not comply. Concerned that the suspect may continue to chase after the victim, officers broke out the front passenger and driverís side windows to gain entry. Officers were able to remove the suspect from his vehicle and placed him in custody. The suspect was identified as Andrew Madden and was charged with Stalking and other various offenses.

Initial report of a Train vs Pedestrian accident. Officers arrived and the investigation revealed that a male subject likely jumped or fell from the Bijou bridge, landing near the railroad tracks. On Saturday, 09-06-2014, at 8:35PM, Sand Creek Division officers were dispatched to the intersection of S. Academy Blvd. and Airport Rd. to investigate a reported traffic collision.

Due to the collision in the intersection, southbound Academy Blvd. at Airport Rd. and westbound Airport Rd. at Academy Blvd. are closed.

Several people were transported to area hospitals; however, there were no fatalities or life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, 09-06-14, at approximately 0318 hours, Officers from the Gold Hill Division were conducting a DUI evaluation in the 1800 block of S. Nevada Ave. when they heard shots fired in the area. Through a witness, they were able to quickly identify a black van as the suspect vehicle. Officers observed that van leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle in the 2800 block of S. Circle Dr.

The driver, 24-year-old Rikky Miller, was detained without incident. The passenger, 20-year-old Tierney George-Quintana, ran from the vehicle and after a foot pursuit and a taser deployment, was apprehended by officers.

The Communication Center received a call for service from an address in the 1800 block of St. Elmo Ct. regarding a disturbance with shots fired. Through investigation, it was determined the two suspects had started an altercation at that address. As they were leaving the area in the van, the driver fired multiple shots out the driverís window.

No one was injured during the disturbance or the shots fired. Spent shell casings were located on scene and a firearm that was consistent with the spent shell casings was located in the suspect vehicle.

Miller was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on felony and misdemeanor weapons charges as well as Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

George-Quintana sustained minor injuries during her arrest. She was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on misdemeanor charges.

On 09/06/14, at approximately 4:57 am, a male suspect entered the 7-11 store at the above location and robbed the store clerk at gunpoint. Boxes of cigarettes were taken. The suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as a white male, 18-30 years old, approximately 5'11", 155 pounds with short brown hair. The suspect was wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood and a camouflage face mask.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Astrozon Bl and Academy Bl on a three car traffic accident. At this time, the crash is currently being investigated and there are road closures.

Northbound Academy Blvd at Hancock Blvd is completely shut-down.

Southbound Academy Blvd at Astrozon Blvd there are no left turns onto eastbound Astrozon Blvd.

Eastbound traffic on Astrozon approaching Academy, there is no "through lanes" open, drivers can only go south bound or north bound on Academy.

Westbound traffic on Astrozon approaching Academy, drivers can not make a left turn to go southbound on Academy.

(Most of the accident scene is located in the northbound lanes of Academy Blvd on the southeast side of the roadway)

Due to more vehicles being out on the roadway because of the Christmas Holiday season, this area has become extremely congested with traffic. CSPD is requesting drivers find an alternate route at this time. It is unknown how long the intersection will be shut down.

Investigation Update: The Major Accident team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The investigation shows that vehicle #1, A PT Cruiser was southbound on Academy Blvd. approaching Astrozon. The traffic signal for southbound changed to red and a the east bound Astrozon light turned green. A green Dodge Dakota truck began to travel east on Astrozon and was struck by the PT Cruiser which failed to stop for the red light. The Green truck was subsequently pushed into a white Ford truck which was stopped for the light on north bound Academy. A 6 year old passenger in the PT Cruiser sustained injury and was transported from the scene to a local hospital. The driver of the PT Cruiser, Identified as Brenda Hurt, a 22 year old female and aunt to the injured child. Alcohol and drugs may have been a factor in the accident. Charges are pending further investigation
