On 05/11/16, at approximately 1:37AM, a male called to report that he was had been stabbed in the shoulder and was bleeding. The male reported that he was on the 100 block of E. Platte Ave. Officers located the male at this location where he reported that he was stabbed by a white female after he refused to have sex with her. The male was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening stab wound to his shoulder.

Location
During the month of April 2016 Detectives Jim Strachan and Jason Armes began to notice a pattern of burglaries taking place at local storage unit facilities around town. During the follow up a suspect, Keith Carroll, was identified. During subsequent follow up and investigation detectives learned that Carroll was responsible for at least fifteen cases involving burglaries of storage units with over fifty total victims. While talking to a witness detectives were able to observe as Carrol committed one such burglary. After having completed the burglary Carroll was taken into custody and charged. To date Detectives Strachan and Armes, along with the help of Sand Creek Investigations, have completed and served 5 different search warrants in an attempt to recover victim’s stolen property. During the investigation it appears as though Carroll was targeting antique items to take and sell to collectors around town. Also during the investigation Carroll’s girlfriend Meghan Dresel was arrested and charged for Possession of a Controlled substance. Additional charges and or arrests are anticipated.

On May 10th, 2016, at 12:48 PM, Officers responded to a traffic accident in the area of S. Circle Dr. and Janitell Rd. The accident involved a delivery van and a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian attempted to cross Circle Dr. while traffic on Circle Dr. had a green traffic signal. The pedestrian struck the right front of the van resulting in serious but non-life-threatening injury to the pedestrian. Eastbound traffic on Circle Dr. was closed for approximately forty minutes during the investigation but all lanes of traffic have since re-opened.

On Friday, May 6, 2016, at 5:00PM, an adult female was walking in the area of South Murray Boulevard and Dewey Drive when she was approached by an unidentified male who made sexual comments to her. The unidentified male followed the female on foot, made physical contact with her and ran to a nearby vehicle. The female confronted the male at his vehicle and he drove away, dragging her for a short period of time in the process. The female was able to get away from the male and was not seriously injured.

The suspect is described as an unknown Hispanic male, mid to late 20s, medium build, with short black hair and extremely chapped lips.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a light blue, four-door, newer model sedan with an unknown Oklahoma license plate.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is actively attempting to identify the suspect and his vehicle. Members of the public with information regarding the identity of the suspect or his vehicle are asked to call CSPD at #719-444-7000. On the above date and time, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Gahart Drive to investigate a family disturbance. As a result of the investigation, Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect, who was seated in a vehicle in the parking lot. Officer contacted the suspect and ordered him out of the vehicle. The suspect refused to exit the vehicle and an officer reached inside and grabbed the suspect. The suspect them punched the officer in the arm. The suspect was then tased. He was removed from the vehicle, however, continued to resist officers. The suspect kicked a second officer and spit at officers. The suspect was eventually taken into custody.

Location
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of S. Academy Boulevard and Airport Road to investigate a report of a traffic accident. The investigation revealed that a green Honda Civic had been travelling southbound on S. Academy Blvd at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a tan Honda Accord that was also travelling southbound. The Honda Civic then veered to the east and travelled over a raised concrete median and into the northbound lanes of traffic. The Civic then struck a white Chevrolet Malibu that was travelling northbound. The two occupants of the Malibu exited the vehicle and fled the area on foot. Officers are still trying to identify and locate those two persons.

The driver of the Honda Civic was served and released on a summons for the charge of Reckless Driving. No one was injured. Alcohol was not a factor.

2100 Delta Drive

On Sunday, May 08, 2016, at about 12:37PM, Officers of the Sand Creek Division of the Colorado Springs Police Department were dispatched to the 2100 Block of Delta Drive in regards to a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers located a 20 year old female who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital where she is currently being treated for her injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit and Felony Assault Unit responded to conduct an investigation into the shooting and it was discovered that the victim had been shot by her Fiancé, 28 year old Tywaun Deeds. Mr. Deeds was taken into custody and will be booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on the charge of Attempted Murder.

Upon arrival officers located the male party identified as Dana Rose, 35 years of age in front of the residence lying on the sidewalk with four stab wounds on his back. The male party told officers he was at a friend’s home and while leaving the friends home he fell back on top of rocks which caused the puncture wounds. The male party could not provide officers a location where the incident took place or the name of the friend he was with. The male party was transported to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

On 05/08/16, a Domino’s Pizza driver was making a delivery in the 2000 block of Southgate Rd. After exiting his vehicle, he was contacted by a suspect who he described as a black male, 5’-10” tall, heavy build, and wearing a blue bandana over his face. The victim stated the suspect was armed with a semi-automatic pistol and pointed the pistol at him. The suspect then demanded the victim give him his money. The victim gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash from his pocket.

After obtaining the victim’s money, the suspect told the victim to walk away. The victim did so and then ran to a nearby drug store where he later called the police. The suspect was not located or identified.

On 04/06/16 Officers of the Stetson Hills IMPACT Team in collaboration with members of the US Postal Inspectors, and Financial Crimes Unit, began a month long investigation into theft of mail, identity theft, and manipulation of financial accounts. As a result of the investigation over 100 potential victims were identified, arrests were made in 13 new felony cases, 7 felony warrants were cleared, and 6 search warrants were executed.

The investigation spanned El Paso, Teller, Douglas, Elbert and Arapahoe counties. Activity included printing fraudulent checks, printing false Colorado Identification cards, theft of mail from community and individual mailboxes, burglary, and distribution of methamphetamine.
