At approximately 6:04 PM on September 12, 2016, Officers from the Falcon Division responded to a job site assault at 9965 Federal Drive. Initial investigation determined suspect Caroline Negron (38 YOA) used a scalpel to inflict injury to a co-worker’s neck. The victim was subsequently transported to a local medical facility to be treated for a non-life-threatening wound, and Detectives from the Felony Assault Unit responded to assist. Ms. Negron has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and First Degree Assault.

3200 block of S. Academy Blvd
Location
Officers were dispatched to a residence within the Lamplighter Mobile Home Park to investigate a burglary. An unknown suspect entered the residence and took some car keys. The suspect then went back outside and stole a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck.
As officers were on scene investigating the burglary, Officer Rogers found the truck near Carmel Drive and Del Mar Drive. The truck was followed through the neighborhood for several minutes while Officer Rogers waited for other officers to arrive. A short vehicle pursued followed. The truck eventually pulled into a parking lot near Pace Drive and S. Academy Blvd. and two occupants jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers checked the area where the suspects fled to, but were not able to locate the two suspects.
After the suspects jumped from the vehicle, the truck continued to roll southbound on S. Academy Boulevard. The truck rolled up onto and over the sidewalk on the west side of the 1800 block of S. Academy Boulevard. There was minor damage to the truck and it was returned to the owners.
There is no suspect information at this time.

On 09/12/2016 officers responded to a two car injury traffic accident on N. Carefree Cir just east of Pony Tracks. The investigation revealed that vehicle #1 was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of N. Carefree Cir when it struck vehicle #2 head on who was traveling eastbound on N. Carefree Cir. Both drivers were transported to an area hospital with significant injuries. Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor. Eastbound N. Carefree Cir will be closed at Pony Tracks while MAU conducts their investigation.

Officers were dispatched to the area regarding a stolen vehicle. The owner of the stolen vehicle had found it in a parking lot. Officers conducted extensive follow-up and located the suspect, a 32 year old male, and took him into custody without incident. While investigating the stolen vehicle, officers developed information regarding the whereabouts of a wanted female party related to the male suspect. The female, a 26 year old female, hid inside a house in the 3700 block of Meadowland Blvd. With the help of K-9 Maverick, the female was located inside and taken into custody without incident. Both parties were taken to CJC.

On 09/11/2016 at approximately 7:34 p.m. the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service of a hit and run traffic accident involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Platte Avenue and Circle Drive. Officers and medical personnel responded to the scene. The driver of the motorcycle sustained minor injuries, was evaluated by medical personnel and cleared on scene. The hit and run vehicle was described as a silver Chrysler convertible with an unknown driver description and unknown license plate. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

On 09/11/16 Gold Hill officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Rice Dr. to investigate a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers located a male party who suffered a gunshot wound to his lower leg. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers located multiple shell casings on scene as well as multiple bullet holes in the residence. Investigation revealed that a vehicle stopped in front of the residence and two males exited the vehicle and began firing towards the parties that were sitting on the front porch of the residence. The vehicle was last seen heading west bound on Rice Dr.

4800 block Mallow Road

At approximately 10:49 AM on September 11, 2016, Officers responded to the 4800 block of Mallow Road on the report of a family disturbance. Upon arrival, a fifteen year old child was found to have a laceration to his head, and initial investigation determined the fifteen year old, as well as an older teen brother, were involved in an argument with their father over the use of a television when the fifteen year old armed himself with a bat. The father subsequently took the bat from his child, at which point the child armed himself with a second bat. The second bat was taken by the father as well, and was then used to strike the fifteen year old in the head. The child was transported to a local medical facility for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound, and the father was arrested for assault.

On 9-9-16, Officers from the Stetson Hills Division were dispatched to the 2800 hundred block of Briargate Blvd in reference to a bank robbery. A lone female suspect entered the bank, made a demand for cash, and then fled the scene northbound in a grey colored car. No one was injured during this robbery and the investigation is ongoing.
