Continuing investigation by Gold Hill Patrol Officers have identified a suspect in this case. Probable cause was developed and an ARREST WARRANT has been obtained for
JUSTIN JAY HATFIELD, AGE 38, AKA "J.J." white male, 5'10", 200 pounds, green eyes, brown hair, may have brown goatee.
At this time the Hatfield is at large. His address is unknown. It is unknown if he is armed, but should be considered dangerous to the public until apprehended.

Officers responded to investigate a kidnapping event. They contacted the victim at his home. Initial investigation finds that last night (04/14/14) the victim gave a car ride to a male who reported he was out of gasoline and needed a ride to his car. The suspect near Garden of the Gods Rd and 30th Street told the victim he would kill him if he didn't comply. The victim was ordered to drive to an unknown location believed to be on Gold Camp Road, where he was sexually assaulted. The victim escaped several hours later when he and the suspect drove to King Soopers at Fillmore and Centennial. Suspect described as a 35-40 year old Hispanic male, 5'11", heavy build. Investigation is continuing.

The suspect in the stabbing, Lindsey Graham (23 yoa), was located and arrested without incident. She was transported to the El Paso County Jail and booked on the charges of Assault in the second degree and menacing, both felonies.

On the above date and time, officers responded to the area of 3200 Illinois Ave in response to a stabbing. Investigation revealed that the incident was a family disturbance and that injuries were minor.

The roadway is open, however, the hills going up Austin Bluffs toward UCCS in both directions still remain very icy. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Eastbound Austin Bluffs at N Nevada Ave is temporarily closed due to the deteriorating road conditions. The road will remain closed until the stalled vehicles can be removed and snow plows can safetly sand the hill.

3826 Bloomington St; Office Max

On 4/13/14 at approximately 4:58PM officers were dispatched to the Office Max store located at 3826 Bloomington St regarding a robbery that had occurred 45 minutes earlier.

The investgation revealed a suspect entered the Office Max store around 5pm. The suspect made his way to the laptop display. While he was in the laptop aisle, the employees heard the laptop alarms go off, indicating the security cable on the laptop had been cut.

The suspect began running for the front door carrying two laptops. An employee moved stop the suspect when he used the laptops against the employee to keep her from stopping him. The employee suffered minor injuries.

A second employee attempted to intercept the suspect at the door. The suspect menaced the second employee with a screwdriver type tool before running out the front door. The second employee was not injured.

The suspect ran to a small red Honda hatchback, similar to a Honda CRX. The vehicle had a temporary license plate. The vehicle was last seen north bound on Powers Blvd.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 26 years of age; 6'01 to 6'06 tall with a thin build and some facial hair; last seen wearing a black hoodie, black designer jeans, and a black beanie.

Officers checked the area, but were not able to locate the suspect vehicle or suspects.

Drivers need to travel at a safe speed for the conditions and leave an increased and safe following distance from the vehicle in front of them. Drivers should use streets and roadways less hazardous in winter driving conditions. Drivers also need to remove snow and ice obstructing their vision and have adequate snow tires on their vehicles

Sunday morning, about 1:30, motorists reported a pickup truck driving off the roadway of the SB exit of I-25 at the Martin Luther King Bypass and involved in a single-car rollover accident. Upon arrival, Officers observed a 28 year-old man had been ejected from the small truck as a result of the rollover. The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle was quickly transported to a local hospital. Alcohol and vehicle speed were factors in the crash. The driver was reported to be in critical condition. The driver's name is not being released pending notification of family.

Sunday morning, April 13, 2014, at 3:43 AM, the police department received a telephone call regarding two persons opening car doors in the 700 block of East Fountain Boulevard. Two juvenile males were later contacted and found in possession of items removed from at least two vehicles. As there were several items that did not belong to the victims who were located, there may be additional victims in the neighborhood that are missing items from their unlocked vehicles. Please contact the police department if your car had items removed.
