Sand Creek Patrol Division Commander
Commander Kirk Wilson began his law enforcement career in 1995 with the Colorado Springs Police Department. Within the Department. Commander Wilson has experience in the Patrol, Professional Standards, and Violent Crimes Divisions. Over the course of his career, Commander Wilson has served as a patrol officer, Master Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Crimes against Children/Adult Sex Crimes detective and a Homicide detective. Commander Wilson was promoted to sergeant in 2005 and supervised the Falcon Patrol Division and in Internal Affairs. After being promoted to lieutenant in 2008, Commander Wilson managed the Internal Affairs Unit, Sand Creek Patrol Division, Shift III, and then the Violent Crimes Section. In 2012, Commander Wilson was promoted to his current rank, returning to the Sand Creek Patrol Division. Commander Wilson earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Metropolitan State College in Denver, majoring in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement. Commander Wilson is currently working on his Masters Degree in Public Administration at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Commander Wilson is currently attending the FBI’s National Academy.
