Pickleball, one of the fastest growing sports in the country, is played on a badminton-sized court (indoor or outdoor) with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. Play requires a perforated plastic ball similar to a whiffle ball and a flat-surfaced wood or composite paddle about twice the size of a ping-pong paddle.
