During the meeting, citizens and business interests along the corridor were given an opportunity to view displays, hear a presentation overview of the project and contribute thoughts and ideas for a model for future land use alternatives, transportation/transit options and plans to support revitalization of the corridor and adjacent areas. Several technical working group meetings will be scheduled over the coming months for topic specific discussions. Send your email address to info@AcademyBlvdGreatStreets.com and request to be added to the database to be kept informed by email of when these meetings will take place.
The Academy Boulevard Great Streets study team hosted its second public meeting Jan. 26 at the Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy on East Pikes Peak Avenue. A group of about 75 residents, business and property owners, and developers reviewed displays focusing on transit, traffic, streetspace, land use, roadway/access, and alternatives evaluation.
Meeting attendees also saw a presentation that highlighted the team's findings following almost 10 months of study and evaluation of each of those topics. All of the display board presented during the public meeting will be posted to the web site in the coming days.
