Case Description

The Victim: Michael Dobbins, age 54, was found stabbed to death on November 09, 1997 in the 1200 block of  South Nevada Ave. 

 

The Crime: On November 09, 1997, at approximately 0308 hours, Colorado Springs Police officers were dispatched to the alleyway on the east side of S. Nevada Avenue in the 1200 block on an unresponsive male. Upon officers arrival, officers located the body of an adult male, who was identified as Michael Dobbins, laying in the alleyway next to a dumpster adjacent to the Economy Inn Motel.   Mr. Dobbins appeared to have sustained stab wounds to the body.

 

The Investigation: Mr. Dobbins lived alone in a trailer in the immediate area. There are no known suspect(s) identified at this time.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Cold Case Unit is currently responsible for approximately 90 unsolved homicide cases dating back to 1949. CSPD considers a case to be cold if it remains unsolved for more than one year.
