On July 24, 2012, Officer Matt Tyner was attempting to catch up to a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. When nearing the intersection of Austin Bluffs Pkwy and Sliver Dr., Colorado Springs, CO., Officer Tyner was involved in an accident that resulted in his death. The investigation into this incident and the circumstances that led to the death of Officer Tyner is still on-going. Several media releases requesting information were completed, many of which gave descriptive information of the motorcycle and person Officer Tyner was chasing.

As a part of this ongoing investigation, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is requesting that anybody who has ANY information, or who had witnessed the events surrounding Officer Tyner’s death, and has not been contacted by investigators, to please contact CSPD. ANY information, even if contrary to the initial descriptions given in press releases is being sought by investigators.
