Mountain Metropolitan Transit Expands Bus Service to New VA Clinic

As part of its fall service changes, Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) will expand bus service to the new Veterans Administration (VA) Clinic. Beginning Monday, September 15, bus service will run 10 hours per day during the week from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Route 2 has been serving the clinic since it opened on August 18 with weekday service from 10:45 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m.

Route 2 operates between the Downtown Terminal and the El Paso County Citizens Service Center on Garden of the Gods Road.  The Route 2 schedule and map can be accessed on the MMT website at or call (719) 385-RIDE (7433) for more information.

Fall service changes also include the end of the seasonal City of Manitou Springs Free Summer Shuttle. The last day of operation for the 2014 season will be September 13. Since May 18, the Manitou Shuttle carried over 85,000 passengers.

Mountain Metropolitan Transit provides local fixed-route bus service and Mountain Metro Mobility ADA Paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Mountain Metro Rides’ ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, there are bike racks on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program.
