City to observe Independence Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-- AllCity of Colorado Springs administrative and elected administrative offices and agencies will be CLOSED on Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day, including:

  • City Hall
  • City Clerk
  • Municipal Court
  • Sales Tax Office
  • Administrative offices for Mountain Metropolitan Transit
  • Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building
  • Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum
  • City Auditorium (except for private rentals)
  • Sports Office at Memorial Park
  • Meadows Community Center
  • Otis Park
  • Hillside Community Center
  • Deerfield Hills Community Center
  • Prospect Beach and Lake
  • Colorado Springs Tennis
  • Sertich Ice Center
  • Memorial Park Recreation Center & Prospect Lake Beach (YMCA)

Join the celebration with City of Colorado Springs sponsored July 4th Activities:

Fabulous Fourth - Join your friends and neighbors at Memorial Park for the fabulous Fourth Celebration. Hear the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and enjoy the fireworks, food, drink and fun for the whole family. Stop by the City’s Spirit of the Springs booth.

Family Fourth at Rock Ledge Ranch-Visitors have an opportunity to walk through the reenactment of a revolutionary war camp, hear General William Jackson Palmer read the Declaration of Independence, and talk to Katherine Lee Bates as she discusses her inspiration for “America the Beautiful”.

Carnival games are available in the barn with prizes! Bring a picnic or buy a hot dog and enjoy it on the Orchard House lawn while listening to patriotic music performed by the Fountain Creek Brass Band! Those in active military are eligible for discounts with an ID.

July 5th Park Volunteer Clean-up- The party is not over after the fireworks finales, we’re extending the celebration in Memorial Park to the day after! Bring your friends and neighbors for a morning of re-greening a great community space.
