Structure Fire at Summit Apartments, 2610 Reeve Circle

Colorado Springs, CO – On January 8, 2014 at 8:16 a.m., Colorado Springs firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Summit Apartments, 2610 Reeve Circle. The first CSFD engine arrived within four minutes to find a working fire in a single upstairs apartment. There were no occupants in the apartment when crews arrived on scene.

CSFD responded to this two alarm fire call with ten apparatus including five fire engines, four fire trucks, hazmat, heavy rescue and medical and support personnel. There were approximately 50 firefighters and support personnel on scene.

One fire fighter sustained minor injuries and one firefighter sustained moderate injuries (a broken lower leg). There were no civilian injuries.

The fire was contained to one upstairs apartment.  One other apartment had smoke damage.

It is estimated that $693,489 of property/content was saved and $145,050 in property/content was lost from the fire.

The origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation.
