Dublin/Academy
Intersection Improvements
Project
Description: The Dubin Boulevard and Academy Boulevard intersection
configuration doesn't meet current design standards and has been
a high accident location. In 2004, the City applied for and received
a competative, federally-funded Hazard Elimination and Safety
grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation. Project
design is almost done with right-of-way purchases still pending.
Benefits
of the finished project will include improved safety for vehicles
and pedestrians, better traffic flow, and reduced congestion.

northeast corners of the intersection
- New
traffic signals
- Sidewalk
and pedestrian ramp upgrades
- Provide
a safer right-in/right-out driveway accesses for businesses
on the southwest corner
Total
estimated project cost: $675,000 paid by Hazard Elimination
and Safety grant funds.
Estimated
project schedule: Construction is expected to begin in early
2008 and be finished by summer 2008.
