Penrose St. Francis Hospital No Longer Contracted with Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS) Healthy Directions

Penrose St. Francis Hospital is no longer contracted with PHCS Healthy Directions.  You may still utilize Penrose St. Francis Hospital as an out-of-network provider; however, the PHCS discount will not apply, and you may incur higher out-of-pocket expenses, per the out-of-network schedule of benefits. This change took effect on 7/1/05.

Employees and Dependents are responsible for assuring that they are using In-Network providers. Do not assume that if your physician refers you or your Dependent to a certain facility that the facility is also In-Network, even if the provider is In-Network. Verify

In-Network facilities by calling Memorial Hospital Medical Network's office at  719-365-5265. Only Memorial Hospital Medical Network can authorize Out-of-Network referrals through the Pre-certification process when enrolled in one of the EPO Plans.

In addition, you can verify PHCS Healthy Directions providers online at www.phcs.com, or by phone at (800) 678-7427 Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.  Be sure to specify Healthy Directions when inquiring about a PHCS network provider.
