On 01/22/2017 at approximately 2:43 PM officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department Stetson Hills Division were dispatched to a residence in the 6200 block of Hartman Drive regarding a family disturbance. Offices were advised that the father and son at this residence were involved in an argument and that the father had armed himself with a handgun. While responding officers were advised that one shot was fired inside the residence. Upon officers arrival it was determined that the father in the residence was arguing with his 29 year old son who was intoxicated. During this argument the father had armed himself with a handgun and fired one round inside of the residence striking a wall inside the residence. After interviewing the victim, the suspect and all of the witnesses the father who fired the round inside the residence was arrested and transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center where he was charged with Illegal Discharge of a Weapon.

***AS OF 1050 HOURS ALL LANES OF TRAFFIC ARE REOPENED**

On 01/22/17 at approximately 5:19 AM, CSPD officers were dispatched to Woodland Hills Drive and Churchwood Circle reference a single vehicle traffic accident. The initial information is that the vehicle was traveling east bound on Woodland Hills Drive and veered off the roadway striking a utility box, fencing and a portion of a brick wall. The driver was a juvenile and transported to a local area hospital. The passenger was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious but not life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Speed and alcohol are possible contributing factors to the accident. The CSPD Major Accident Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Woodland Hills Drive is closed in both directions between Pioneer Elementary School and Rangewood Drive due to the ongoing investigation.

On 01-22-16 at 0140 hours Sand Creek Officers responded to the sound of gun fire in front of the businesses on the north side of 1800 East Platte Ave. Several unidentified parties were involved in a disturbance after leaving an area “hookah” lounge. One of the parties only described as a light skin black male or Hispanic male produced a handgun causing the crowd to disperse quickly. The male then fired at fleeing individuals striking one adult male in the back and grazing another adult female’s scalp. The male then ran from the scene in an unknown direction. Both injured parties are being treated for non- life threatening injuries at this time. Investigating officers do not believe there is an immediate threat to the public and are asking for anyone with information pertaining to the shooting to contact the Colorado Springs Police Department @ 719-444-7000.

Upon arrival it was discovered that the victim was assaulted by several Hispanic males some with baseball bats. The victim was transported to Memorial Main where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.

3000 Starlight Circle

On 01-22-17 at approximately 0040 hours Officers Rutter-4922 and Colburn-5133 were patrolling the area of the 3000 block of Starlight Circle looking for criminal activity between calls for service. Officer Rutter observed a male he recognized as Isaiah Pickett sitting in a parked vehicle. Isaiah Pickett was wanted on a felony Arrest Warrant for several charges. Officers approached the vehicle to contact Pickett. Upon seeing officers, Pickett exited the vehicle and ran. Officer Rutter and Colburn followed Pickett while directing officers into the area for containment. Unable to out run Officers Rutter and Colburn, Pickett tried to escape capture by running into a residence. Sand Creek officers with the assistance of CSPD K9 officers set up containment on the residence. Pickett realized he was surrounded and exited the front door to the residence and surrendered peacefully. No injuries were sustained by citizens, officers or Mr. Pickett.

On January 21 at approximately 12:40PM the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call about a shooting. Upon arrival officers found a male had sustained a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. Officers with the Sand Creek division later contacted a female involved in the incident. Detectives with the Domestic Violence Unit responded and later arrested the female for attempted first degree murder. The female was identified as Breanna Lark (23). Ms. Lark was booked into the Criminal Justice Center.

3000 E. Fountain Blvd
Location
On 01/04/17 shortly before 2:00PM, officers from the Sand Creek Division were dispatched to the 3000 block of E. Fountain Blvd in regard to a disturbance stemming from a sexual assault. The suspect, 61 year old Allen Loggins, was reported to be in a parking lot at that location. Upon arrival, Officers Swenning and Reed quickly identified Loggins in a vehicle in the parking lot. Loggins refused to obey the officers’ commands to exit the vehicle, and attempted to use a vehicle passenger to block himself from the officers. Officers Swenning and Reed were able to safely remove the vehicle passenger, at which time Loggins became physically combative toward the officers. Loggins was physically removed from the vehicle and continued to be physically combative, at which time Officer Reed deployed his Taser. The Taser deployment was successful and Loggins was taken into custody. It was then discovered that Loggins was in possession of illegal narcotics. Further investigation revealed that the sexual assault was unfounded. Loggins was later taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center for Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Obstruction.
