Stetson Hills -- Shift II
Austin Bluffs / Barnes
On 09/07/13, at approximately 9:29 pm, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call that a white male approached a vehicle stopped at the light at Austin Bluffs Pkwy. and Barnes Rd. and pointed a handgun at the occupants of the vehicle. The suspect was described as a white male in his 30's, wearing a dark shirt, jeans, a ball cap, and an unknown color backpack. While responding to the scene, Officer Krause observed a male walking on Austin Bluffs Pkwy. that matched the description of the suspect. Officer Krause attempted to stop the suspect, but the suspect ran a short distance before stopping. The suspect was detained and a handgun was located a short distance from where he initially ran from police. The suspect, later identified as Jay Ray MOODY (37 year old male), was arrested for Menacing and Possession of a Weapon by Previous Offender. Mr. Moody was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

Professional Standards -- Shift II
817 Village Center Drive
This afternoon at 12:23pm, the First Bank located at 817 Village Center Drive was robbed. The suspect walked in and presented a demand note to a teller and then ran out of the bank.
No weapons were shown and no one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect ran north across Vindicator Dr. and through the apartment complex parking lot in the 800 block of Vindicator. It is believed he was parked somewhere to the north, in the area of War Eagle Drive.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in this area during the time before or after the holdup is asked to call CSPD at 444-7000. One witness observed the suspect as he ran in front of a car, which almost struck him. If any driver recalls this incident, they are asked to call as soon as possible.
The suspect is a white male, 6’00” tall with a very thin build. He appears to be in his mid-twenties. He has short to medium length blond or light red hair and sideburns. He wore a dark long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and a dark ball cap. No vehicle was seen.

Sand Creek -- Shift I
Astrozon Blvd/Astrozon Cr
Officers were dispatched to the area of Astrozon Blvd/Astrozon Cr regarding a water main break causing a very large sink hole. Officers were requested to shut down the road to through traffic. As officers were closing down the road, a driver was able to access the road through a side street and drove her vehicle into the sink hole. The driver did not have any injuries, and the vehicle was able to be towed out of the sink hole with minimal damage. Colorado Springs Utilities responded to the scene and was working on repairing the burst pipe and roadway. Barricades responded to block off the street as well.
