On 03/28/2014, at approximately 1532 hours, officers were dispatched to a local hotel regarding a domestic disturbance. The female half of the disturbance indicated she was being threatened inside of the hotel room by a male whom the female had a protection order against. The female was able to leave the room prior to the arrival of officers. Officers surrounded the room and ordered the male to exit the room. The male refused to exit the room, so members of the Tactical Enforcement Unit responded to assist with the call.

At approximately 2050 hours, the male exited the room after OC projectiles were introduced into the hotel room. The male was identified as 45 year old Ronald Wyckoff. Mr. Wyckoff was transported to the Criminal Justice Center, where he was booked in for a domestic violence felony assault warrant, new charges of Failure to Leave Premises upon Request of a Peace Officer, Harassment, Menacing and Violation of a Court Order, and two unrelated misdemeanor warrants.

On 03/28/14 at approximately 0019 hours, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call of a disturbance in the street in the 1100 block of Wagon Wheel Ave. Officers arrived in the area and located a maroon Toyota that had the windows broken out. A female was located inside the vehicle with unknown injuries. The victim indicated that earlier she had been arguing with her boyfriend and that he had caused the damage to her vehicle and physically assaulted her. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival. The suspect was not located in the area. The suspect is identified as 37 year old Brandon Montoya. The victim was attended to at the scene by AMR but did not require further medical attention.

Anyone with pertinent information pertaining to this investigation or knows the location of Mr. Montoya is asked to contact CSPD at #719-444-7000.

On March 28, 2014 at 11:33 AM, Brandon Montoya was taken into custody without incident at 5240 Edison Avenue by Officer Scott Hallman and assisting officers who were conducting surveillance to apprehend Montoya.

On the above date and time, Falcon division officers were dispatched to the Garden Terrace Apartment Complex in regard to a disturbance. Upon arrival at the apartment, officers could hear items from within being smashed and broken and could hear screaming from at least one male and one female. Officers forced entry and encountered 22 year old Joshua Barker who was out of control and breaking his own property within the residence, causing injury to himself. He failed to obey officers' commands and was subsequently tased to gain compliance. Officers found another adult male and an adult female in the bathroom, where they had sought refuge when Mr. Barker began breaking things. All three were found to be under the influence of the MDMA (Ecstasy) drug known as "Molly" and all three were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Mr. Barker was charged with obstruction. The other adult male and the adult female were not charged with any criminal offenses.

On Thursday, 03/27/2014 at 10:22 p.m., Patrol Officers from the Sand Creek Patrol Division were dispatched to the Arbor Point Apartments in the 2500 block of Hancock Expressway to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, Officers encountered an adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The shooting victim was transported to a local area hospital and is currently in critical condition, and is not expected to survive the injury. The investigation revealed, and physical evidence supports, the gunshot wound was most likely self-inflicted. A Detective from Violent Crimes did respond to assist with the on scene investigation. Proper family notifications were made during the follow up investigation.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Astrozon Bl and Academy Bl on a three car traffic accident. At this time, the crash is currently being investigated and there are road closures.

Northbound Academy Blvd at Hancock Blvd is completely shut-down.

Southbound Academy Blvd at Astrozon Blvd there are no left turns onto eastbound Astrozon Blvd.

Eastbound traffic on Astrozon approaching Academy, there is no "through lanes" open, drivers can only go south bound or north bound on Academy.

Westbound traffic on Astrozon approaching Academy, drivers can not make a left turn to go southbound on Academy.

(Most of the accident scene is located in the northbound lanes of Academy Blvd on the southeast side of the roadway)

Due to more vehicles being out on the roadway because of the Christmas Holiday season, this area has become extremely congested with traffic. CSPD is requesting drivers find an alternate route at this time. It is unknown how long the intersection will be shut down.

Investigation Update: The Major Accident team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. The investigation shows that vehicle #1, A PT Cruiser was southbound on Academy Blvd. approaching Astrozon. The traffic signal for southbound changed to red and a the east bound Astrozon light turned green. A green Dodge Dakota truck began to travel east on Astrozon and was struck by the PT Cruiser which failed to stop for the red light. The Green truck was subsequently pushed into a white Ford truck which was stopped for the light on north bound Academy. A 6 year old passenger in the PT Cruiser sustained injury and was transported from the scene to a local hospital. The driver of the PT Cruiser, Identified as Brenda Hurt, a 22 year old female and aunt to the injured child. Alcohol and drugs may have been a factor in the accident. Charges are pending further investigation
