Burglary
Title
2886 S. Circle Dr.
Location
A guest of the Hotel Elegante' was confronted by an unwanted visitor in his room during the noon hour this Monday. The guest, an enlisted Army soldier, had noticed a man checking the facilities, including the plumbing in the hallway, when the man asked to enter the soldier's room to inspect the plumbing. The man's act was convincing and the guest allowed him into the room, after he put his dogs away. The suspicious man entered the room, pulled his hoodie over his head, and displayed a knife. The off-duty soldier quickly accessed his own firearm and talked the suspect onto the ground. The subdued man also had a pistol in his front waistband, but he did not attempt to retrieve it once he was detained. Officers arrived and confirmed the man was not an employee of the hotel. Officers conducted a quick and thorough investigation and placed the man under arrest for 1st Degree Burglary and related charges. The arrestee has been identified as 43 year-old Phillip McCoy.
