Officers were at the Taco Bell, 1507 S. Nevada Av. investigating two males reported to have a weapon. When attempting to contact the males, one ran from officers. After a short foot pursuit, the male resisted officers attempts to detain him. The weapon turned out to be an air-soft gun. The male who ran had drug paraphernalia and an active Warrant for his arrest. The two police officers who chased and struggled with the suspect sustained minor scrapes to their knees. They did not require medical treatment. The suspect was taken to CJC on the Warrant and charged with Resisting.

1800 N. Royer St.

On 02/02/15 at approximately 1015 hours, Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Gold Hill Division were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 block of N. Royer St. to investigate a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers contacted the homeowner who reported that they returned to their residence after being gone a short time to find a male, later identified as case suspect Jeffrey Tucker (an 18 year old resident of Colorado Springs), inside the residence without permission. When confronted, Mr. Tucker fled the residence, on foot. Responding officers subsequently located Mr. Tucker and engaged him in a lengthy foot pursuit, during which he was taken into custody without incident. The follow-up investigation revealed that Mr. Tucker had previously attempted to unlawfully enter two additional buildings in the area. Mr. Tucker was later taken to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Justice Center (CJC) to face a number of charges, to include but not limited to Second Degree Burglary and Criminal Attempt – Second Degree Burglary.

400 Blk S Chelton Road

On 02/01/15 at approximately 0240 hours while Sand Creek patrol officers were involved in a traffic stop/domestic violence arrest (ETACS 20960) in front the 400 Blk S. Chelton Road a male walked out of the residence and contacted officers. The male said he was leaving the residence avoiding an argument with his wife. At the same time, the wife was calling dispatch to report a domestic violence incident. The two incidents were unrelated. With the Sand Creek patrol officers already tied up with their traffic stop/domestic violence arrest, Stetson Hills patrol officers assisted with the second incident. On scene investigation by Stetson Hills patrol officers led to arrest of the male for domestic violence charges.

Chelton Rd @ Valley Hi
Location
On 02/01/15 at approximately 0145 hours a citizen witnessed a domestic violence assault in a vehicle near the intersection of N. Chelton Road and E. Bijou Street. Responding officers found a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop at Chelton Road and Valley Hi Avenue. This turned out to be the vehicle involved in the reported domestic violence incident. The suspect, initially noncompliant, was tazed twice and taken into custody. The suspect was also found to be driving under the influence. After a medical clearance the suspect was taken to the Criminal Justice Center on charges of domestic violence assault, driving under the influence and obstruction. The vehicle was impounded. The Victim Advocacy Unit responded and assisted with the victim.
