On the above date and time, two unknown suspects approached the front of the business at 200 West Fillmore Street. The victim/clerk was sitting out front and was confronted by one of the suspects. The suspect fired 1-2 gun shots in the direction of the victim. The victim retreated inside the business, locked the door and called the Police. While the victim was retreating 2 more shots were fired by the suspect. Both suspects then fled the area on foot westbound. Suspect #1: Male, 5'5 medium build with hoodie, mask, and sunglasses. Suspect #2 Male, 5'9 medium build with hoodie.

On 03/10/15 at approximately 2011 hours Sand Creek Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Academy Blvd to check the welfare on an intoxicated male who was pushing a stroller in traffic. The suspect was falling over the stroller and at one point tipped the stroller over with a 2 year old child inside. Citizens tried to contact the suspect but he began fleeing with the stroller and ended up falling over a guard rail. Officers arrived on scene and detained the suspect who was extremely intoxicated. Witnesses stated that several cars had to swerve to avoid striking the stroller. The suspect was arrested for child abuse, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Medical personnel responded and treated the child on scene. The Department of Human Services was notified and took custody of the child.

This is the Colorado Springs Police Department with an important message: Due to a damaged natural gas line in the area, you may be without natural gas service. Be advised that Springs Utilities staff will be working in and around gas meters on or around your property throughout the night. A noticeable natural gas smell may exist. Do not attempt to use or re-light gas appliances. Utilities crews will visit each impacted customer's home tomorrow to re-light appliances. Please go to www.csu.org or call 719-448-4800 for information about what is needed for crews to access your home to re-light appliances. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to safely restore your natural gas service.

Detectives are looking for a 2004 to 2008 Phantom Gray Pearl Toyota Corolla missing the passenger side mirror. Anyone with information about this vehicle is asked to call 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers.



Officer McGrath was driving his police cruiser eastbound on Galley Road approaching Querida Dr. when he observed two males on skateboards in the middle of Galley Road just past Bowser Drive. Officer McGrath observed a vehicle travelling westbound on Galley Road and he saw this vehicle strike one of the two skateboarders as the skateboarders were crossing the westbound lanes of traffic.
The skateboarder that was a struck was a 19 year old male. He was transported to a local hospital where it was determined that he suffered serious, possibly life threatening injuries.
The vehicle that was involved fled the scene westbound on Galley Road. That vehicle is believed to be a tan/gold colored sedan, possibly a Chevy. Officers checked the area for that vehicle but it has not been located.

Westbound Galley Road has been temporarily closed while detectives from the Major Accident Unit investigate this crash.

On 03/09/15 at approximately 1439 hours, Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Gold Hill Division were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Arch Street to investigate a disturbance involving a hatchet. The investigation revealed that on this date, arrestee Peter Wegner (a 39 year old resident of Colorado Springs), went to the residence where he engaged the adult male victim in a verbal altercation. During the altercation, Mr. Wegner attempted to strike the victim twice with the hatchet but the victim was able to avoid being hit. After each attempt, the victim was able to defend himself by striking Mr. Wegner and one such strike resulted in him falling to the ground. When he fell, Mr. Wegner struck the rear portion of his head, causing an obvious wound. During the on-scene investigation, officers located / arrested Mr. Wegner who then required medical treatment. At this time, Mr. Wegner is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital, at the conclusion of which he will be booked into CJC for Attempted First Degree Assault and Felony Menacing. Given that the scene was located a short distance away from an area elementary school, School District 11 Security was contacted and chose to lock the school down as a precautionary measure until the issue could be resolved.

On 03/09/15 at Approx: 2:10PM the suspect, Mr. Bittner, entered a downtown store and asked to try on a dress which he did. He walked out of the dressing room and ran into the employee restroom. A clerk went after him and advised it was an employee only area. Bittner had not closed the door and the clerk could see Bittner behind the door. Bittner reached around the door and drug the clerk into the restroom pulling her onto the ground and choking her. A female customer came to the clerks aid and started punching Bittner so the clerk could get away. The clerk got away and called 911. A male who had come into the store blocked the door containing the suspect. Officer responded were in the area and responded quickly detaining the suspect. He was taken to CJC on numerous charges to include Kidnapping / False Imprisonment and Assault. The clerk had minor injuries medical responded on scene but she was not transported.

CSPD was notified of an injury accident in the parking lot of the Seven Eleven Store located at 1011 South 21st Street involving two vehicles. The investigation revealed that a Yukon Denali was backing up out of a parking space when it struck a pedestrian standing in front of the pedestrian's pick-up truck which was parked at the gas pumps. The pedestrian who had his hood up, had his left leg pinned between the two vehicle before he was able to pull his leg free of the bumpers. The pedestrian was transported to Memorial Hospital with unknown left leg injuries by AMR. The driver of the Yukon was cited for careless driving.

On 03/07/15 at 5:37 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a hit and run accident on Academy Blvd at Platte Ave. Witnesses observed the driver and passenger of a 2007 silver Volkswagen flee the scene on foot towards the Citadel Mall. Officer Pam Farmer, who was working extra duty at the mall, detained two males matching the description of the fleeing driver and passenger of the vehicle.
Witnesses were able to positively identify both subjects. Both males were found to be in possession of a large amount of cash, and a large quantity of heroin and methamphetamines. Both the driver and passenger were charged with Unlawful Distribution of Schedule l and ll narcotics. The driver was also charged with Hit and Run traffic charges. Suspectís names will not be released pending further investigation.

Location
Officers responded to a reported traffic crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 52 year old male had run into traffic and was struck by an SUV. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

It appears that the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He was cited for illegally being in the roadway. The driver of the SUV was not injured and was not cited for any violations.
