On Saturday, 08-30-2014, at 3:51PM, Sand Creek Division and Stetson Hills Division officers were dispatched to a reported rollover traffic collision in the 4500 block of Galley Road.

Investigation revealed a green Jeep Cherokee being driven by a 17-year-old male was traveling eastbound in the 4500 block of Galley Road when it crossed into the westbound traffic lanes, drove onto the south curb, struck a light pole and then rolled several times, finally landing on its top.

There were no injuries as a result of the traffic collision. Only one vehicle was involved.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for Careless Driving.

On Friday, August 29th, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to a reported sexual assault. The victim told officers that she was walking in Prairie Grass Park, when she was accosted by an unidentified male, who grabbed her, took her to a nearby vehicle and then sexually assaulted her.

The suspect was possibly wearing a dark mask.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Officers were dispatched to TCF Bank at 4330 N. Academy Bl. to investigate a robbery. 2 suspects entered the bank and demanded money. At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries. No vehicle was seen.

Both suspects were described as white males. Additionally, one suspect was described as approximately 29 years old, average build wearing a green jacket. The second suspect was described as in his 30's, 6', average build wearing a red jacket.

Robbery detectives responded to assist with the investigation.

At approximately 4:35 pm, 08/29/14, CSPD was notified of a shooting in the 4300 block of N. Chestnut St. The preliminary investigation revealed that a subject was shot by another after an altercation outside an apartment building. The injured party fled the scene on foot, but was later contacted after he sought medical attention at a local hospital. The injuries do no not appear life threatening at this time. Major Crimes investigators responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. No immediate arrests have been made at this time, however there is no ongoing threat to the community. Additional information may be released after more details are obtained.

On 08/20/2014, Officer J. Schenk was dispatched to 1834 E. Platte Avenue, the business of Sportique Scooters, to speak with the business owner and victim, Jarrod Stuhlsatz, in regards to one of his scooters being stolen.

The victim described the stolen red scooter as a 2014, “Genuine” Scooter, model “Stella Automatic”, 125 cc., 9.1 H.P., 595 lbs. G.V.W.R., one cylinder. The value of the scooter was listed as $3,800.

The victim reviewed the store’s surveillance video. The customer is observed taking the liability waiver off the counter and placing it in his pocket, as the victim is looking away. The victim described the suspect as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, 175 pounds, with white hair and balding on top. The victim said the suspect appeared to be 65-70 years old, walked with a cane, and had a limp.

Mr. Stuhlsatz contacted a local news station, who ran a story of this theft. The news story included still photographs of the suspect at the counter inside of the business.

On 08/25/14, Officer T. Kananen was investigating an unrelated incident when the person with whom he was talking to recognized the suspect from a news story. The person identified William Skolout as the suspect in the stolen scooter case.

This case was assigned to Detective Andy Duran on 08/25/2014. Detective Duran located another person who identified William Skolout from the news story. Detective Duran’s investigation led to an Arrest Warrant being issued for William Skolout (63 YOA).

On 08/29/2014 at 1250 hours, Mr. Skolout was pulled over on a traffic stop and taken into custody. He was transported to the Criminal Justice Center on the charges of Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft.

1810 North-Gate Bl; Discovery Canyon Campus
Location
On Friday, August 29, 2014, the Discovery Canyon Campus(DCC) located at 1810 North-Gate Blvd received an anonymous tip through Safe2Tell regarding a bomb threat. The tip stated that there was a bomb on each of the three floors of the building.

DCC Administration put the entire campus into a shelter in place status. No one was allowed into the building except for emergency personnel. School District 20 Security responded to the school along with officers from CSPD. Systematic searches of the building were conducted by D20 Security and staff from DCC personnel. After all searches were completed and nothing suspicious was located officials from DCC and D20 returned the campus to normal operations.

Swift action and teamwork kept the interruption to the campus at a minimum.

On 8/28/14 between 6:15PM and 6:41PM a witness saw a young Asian female possibly fighting with a young black male in the parking lot near the Dollar Store located at 4370 Austin Bluffs Pkwy. The Asian female may have been forced into a light blue 4 door vehicle, possibly a Saturn. The vehicle left the area north bound on Austin Bluffs.

The female was described as an Asian female, 16-17 years old, long dark hair, approximately 5'03 tall and 110 lbs, wearing a large tan shirt or jacket with dark jeans, and carrying a pink purse.

The black male was described as being 18-19 years old, approximately 6' tall and 125 lbs with short dark hair cut in a fade wearing a white Tshirt, yellow construction style reflective vest, and jeans. He may have had a goatee.

The driver was a white male in his early 20's with shorter dark hair also wearing a white Tshirt.

On the above date and time CSPD responded to Memorial Hospital to investigate a sexual assault. A female victim reported she was forcefully sexually assaulted by an acquaintance. The Adult Sexual Assault Unit responded to assist with the investigation. As a result of the investigation probable cause was developed to arrest 30 year old Colorado Springs resident John Jacobs Cooley. He was charged with Sexual Assault a class 3 felony.
