On 07/13/15 at approximately 12:17AM Officer J. Weise and Officer N. Streeter were dispatched to 1026 Rice Dr regarding a disturbance between a male and a female. When officers arrived witnesses pointed out an apartment on the third floor.

When officers contacted the occupants of the apartment a female covered in blood answered the door. A male in the apartment was immediately detained.

The investigation revealed the male suspect had beaten the female victim over the course of an hour or more using his fists and a beer bottle. The female had gotten out of the apartment at one point only to be dragged back into the apartment by the suspect where he continued the beating. The victim said the suspect was upset because she refused to be his girlfriend.

The victim was admitted to the hospital with severe facial injuries. Although the injuries are severe, they do not appear to be life threatening at this time.

The suspect, a 47 year old male, was charged with several charges to include 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Kidnapping. He was transported to CJC.

1200 Blk. Florence Ave
Location
On 07/11/15, at approximately 2030 hours, members assigned to the Colorado Springs Police Department Gold Hill Patrol Division responded to the 1200 Blk. Florence Ave. to investigate an in progress assault. Upon arrival, Officers discovered two victims that had been physically assaulted with a metal object by their neighbor, later identified as suspect Frederick L. WELLS. The victims were transported to the hospital for evaluation. Both victims suffered injuries determined to be serious bodily injury. The investigation revealed that the incident occurred because of a neighbor dispute between the victims and suspect.

After a lengthy patrol investigation, WELLS was arrested for 1st Degree Assault on 07/12/15.

Update: The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing. However, it is believed that speed and alcohol are factors.

On July 12, 2015, Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a two car crash with injuries in the 2400 block of N. Nevada Avenue. Several vehicle occupants were transported to local area hospitals. The following lane closures are in effect until 0200 hours (estimate): N/B Nevada Ave. between E. Van Buren St. and E. Monroe St. and E/B and W/B E. Jackson St. between N. Tejon St. and N. Weber St.

While using GPS to locate a lost cell phone, Officers contacted three individuals at a 1987 Toyota Camry in a parking lot. The driver of the vehicle ran from the scene and while conducting an inventory search of the vehicle Officers discovered 69 grams of cocaine in rock as well as powder form.

The driver was identified from paperwork inside the vehicle and Officers obtained an arrest warrant for the driver for Unlawful Distribution of a Scedule II Controlled Substance.

The other two males were checked for warrants and were released at the scene.

1200 Willow Bend Circle

On 07/12/15 at 0454 hours officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Willow Bend Circle in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers contacted two parties that were extremely intoxicated. One party was given a ride to a local motel. The female, 28 year old Alicia Wiedmaier, locked herself in a vehicle and continuously pressed the vehicle’s horn. Wiedmaier eventually unlocked the vehicle and as officers were talking to her she spit on an officer and became verbally aggressive. Wiedmaier was taken into custody and taken to the hospital for a medical clearance. While at the hospital she kicked an Emergency Room nurse in the chest. Wiedmaier was charged with Assault on a Peace Officer, Assault on an Emergency Medical Provider and Disorderly Conduct and taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

On the above date and time Officer Eddins stopped a vehicle for weaving in and out of a traffic lane. The driver was cited and released for multiple traffic charges to include driving with a suspended driver’s license. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle prior to impounding it, officers located suspected heroin in the vehicle. Officers re-contacted the suspect and arrested him. The suspect is identified as 24 year old Colorado Springs resident Joshua Kirby. He was charged with multiple charged to include Unlawful Possession of a Schedule One Substance and Unlawful Distribution of a Schedule One Substance.

On the above date and time CSPD was sent to investigate a rollover traffic accident in the area of Lexington Dr. and Research Parkway. The investigation revealed a vehicle driven by 30 year old Colorado Springs resident Brandon Day was northbound on Lexington Dr. when it was struck by a second vehicle that was eastbound on Research Pkwy. On 07/11/15 Sand Creek officers were dispatched to the Diamond Shamrock, located in the 1700 block of Jet Wing Dr to investigate a theft. The suspect was contacted outside of the store and threatened to take the first arriving officers gun. The officer pulled his Taser out and gave the suspect commands to get down on the ground. The suspect was initially compliant so the officer moved in to handcuff the suspect. While attempting to handcuff the suspect, the suspect turned towards the officer and while attempting to get to his feet reached towards the officer’s handgun. The suspect was not able to disarm the officer and the officer pushed off the suspect. The officer deployed his Taser and took the suspect into custody. Suspect was charged with attempting to disarm a peace officer and theft.

On the above date and time officers of the Sand Creek Division were dispatched to a fight at a softball game. Information was received that two males were fighting and one was unconscious on the ground. Investigation revealed that the male who was unconscious was the primary aggressor and that after striking the victim male several times the victim struck the aggressor once, resulting in the primary aggressor falling to the ground, striking his head on the concrete. The unconscious male was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, and at the time of this entry his status is unknown.

3808 LA SALLE ST (DIAMOND SHAMROCK)

On 7/11/15, at approximately 9:17pm, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call of a robbery with a weapon that had just occurred at the Diamond Shamrock gas station at 3808 La Salle St. The suspect threatened the victim with some type of metal bladed object before leaving the business. The store clerk was not harmed. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, late 30's, 5'4" to 5'5", with a shaved head, goatee,and a tattoo on the right side of his neck. The suspect was wearing all black clothing and fled the area on foot.
