On 10-04-14 at approximately 0018 hours, CSPD Sand Creek Division officers were dispatched to a residence in Colorado Springs to contact the victim of a reported attempted kidnapping.

The victim is a 15 year old female who reported that while she was walking home from work, two men approached her in a vehicle and attempted to kidnap her by grabbing her and pulling her hair. The victim was able to escape and run home. The victim reported that the attempted kidnaping occurred at the intersection of E. Pikes Peak Ave and Murray Blvd.

The victim described the first suspect as a white male approximately 5-07 weighing 130 to 150 pounds. This suspect was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, blue under armor head covering, blue shorts, white socks and white shoes. This suspect also possible had a tattoo on his right wrist and a scar under his right eye.

The victim described the second suspect as a black male approximately 5-10 weighing 150 to 200 pounds. This suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black bandana, black jeans and black Nike shoes.

The suspects were driving a dark green or black two door sedan.

Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects or the suspect vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

An adult women who had gone missing since Thursday (10/2/14)has been located. An unknown party called the police department to report a female who had been standing on the corner all day and looked lost. CSPD Dispatcher matched up the description to a missing adult and advised the responding officer. Once the offier was on scene he positively ID the party as the missing at adult (Rose Jacobson). Medical was called for dehydration.

3000 block of Michigan Ave.

On 10-04-2014 at approximately 0019 hours, Patrol Officers with the Sand Creek Division were dispatched to the 3000 block of Michigan Ave., in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers determined that a female had suffered a gunshot wound and was deceased. The CSPD Violent Crimes/Homicide Unit responded to conduct an investigation. Based on probable cause established during the investigation, Erik Dean Dlouhy was arrested for Manslaughter. Dlouhy is a 25 year old male from Colorado Springs. Official Cause and Manner will be determined by the El Paso County Coronerís Office at autopsy. No other individuals are being sought in this investigation. The victimís identity will not be released pending notification to family.

Officers responded to the Montebello Gardens Apartments to a possible robbery situation. Upon arrival, a female reported having her keys taken by force by an unknown suspect. A witness was able to identify an apartment that the suspect went into afterwards. Officers were able to contact the suspect in the apartment where he was taken into custody. Officers recovered items of evidence related to the robbery in the apartment.

5300 Block of Austin Bluffs
Location
On 10/03/14 at approximately 6:47PM officers responded to a 1 car accident in the 5300 block of Austin Bluffs Pkwy. The investigation revealed a white 1995 Eagle Talon was northbound on Austin Bluffs in the left lane at a high rate of speed. Witnesses said it appeared the vehicle was racing another vehicle that was also northbound in the center lane.

The driver of the white Eagle Talon lost control, struck the curb of the center median, went airborne striking a tree in the median and shearing the tree off completely. The vehicle continued into an adjacent tree where it came to rest.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital. The driver suffered non life threatening injuries as a result of the accident. The driver was admitted to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver was issued traffic citations for several violations including speed contests (racing).

A Ford Expedition was driven by an adult female S/B Austin Bluffs and attempted to swerve to avoid a large U-Haul rental truck entering the intersection. The adult male driver of the U-Haul truck was driving N/B and attempting to make a left turn. The two vehicles collided and the Expedition then struck a signal pole. The female driver had to be extricated from her vehicle by CSFD. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals. The female sustained serious injuries. Further investigation by Major Accident Unit MAU.

Officer Donya Davis was working traffic enforcement in a school zone near Pikes Peak Elementary. She stopped a vehicle for misuse of plates (altered expiration date on license plate) and determined the driver did not have a license, his registration was expired and had no insurance. During a pat down search of the driver, officers recovered a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine and there was residue in the pipe. The residue tested positive for methampethamines. The driver was arrested for the traffic violations as well as the narcotics violation. During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to impounding the vehicle, a 9mm handgun was recovered. Officers arrested a passenger in the vehicle for Possesion of a Weapon by a Previous Offender since he had been convicted of First Degree Assault.

The driver was identified as Martin Hernandez Vargas- 55 yrs old and the passenger was identified as Oscar Acosta-Mendosa - 55 yrs old.

At approximately 1240 hours CSPD responded to a reported stabbing in the 300 block of University Dr. Upon their arrival they located a juvenile male party that had been stabbed in his buttocks. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for his injuries. There were conflicting statements from witnesses as well as the suspect and the victim as to where the incident occurred as well as what occurred. The suspect was arrested for First Degree Assault and Child Abuse.

Fillmore St and Cascade Av
Location
Officers responded to a three car non-injury traffic accident in the east bound lanes of Fillmore St just west of Cascade Av. Fire and medical crews also responded to the accident and were the first emergency responders to arrive. To protect the scene, the fire truck blocked the left lane behind the involved vehicles.

During the investigation, one of the vehicles from the accident rolled backward on the grade, striking the front bumper of the fire truck. Neither vehicle was occupied at the time, and the damage was minor to both vehicles.
