Title
400 block of East Arvada Street
Location
On the above date and time Officer Mariano observed a gray Ford pick-up truck with an attached red cargo trailer parked behind the apartments in the 400 block of East Arvada St. Officer Mariano knew that a similarly described trailer had been reported stolen from a local boy scout troop the day before.

Officer Mariano approached the truck and contacted a party who was attempting to disconnect the trailer. As Officer Mariano began to investigate the incident, the subject made an ill advised decision to run from the scene. Officer Mariano gave chase through the dark parking area. Unbeknownst to the subject a large tree was in his chosen path. The subject collided with this tree effectively ending his attempted escape. He was then detained and eventually found to have stolen the truck, the trailer, and several sets of license plates, in addition to having an outstanding warrant.

The truck was returned to its owner and the trailer was impounded until its owner could be contacted.

The subject, James Herron, was booked into CJC on a variety of charges to include the above theft charges, as well as weapon charges for a sawed off shotgun found in the truck.
