On the above date and date, officers from the Sand Creek Division attempted to stop a vehicle near Palmer Park and S. Murray that was stolen and had been involved in a burglary. The vehicle fled when officers attempted to stop it. Due to traffic conditions at the time, officers were unable to pursue the suspect.

A short time later, the police department received a report of a hit and run traffic accident in the area of E. Fountain Blvd and S. Academy Blvd involving the same suspect. The victim and a witness followed the suspect for several minutes in an attempt to get them to stop. As they were driving through the area of El Morro Rd and Delta Dr, the suspect pointed a gun at the witness, who immediately turned and left the area. Officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later and a vehicle pursuit ensued. After pursuing the suspect vehicle for several minutes, the pursuit was terminated in the area of S. Academy Blvd and Hwy 115 in the interest of public safety. Shortly after that, a citizen contacted one of the officers and advised him that the suspect vehicle was located in the 4200 block of Westmeadow Dr. Containment was setup in the area and the vehicle was located. After a foot pursuit, three juvenile were contacted and one was taken into custody.

The police department is trying to locate the witness that left the area after the gun was pointed at him. The witness is described as a white male in his 40s or 50s with blonde hair. He was driving a white newer model Mercedes convertible with an unknown plate. If you know this person, please contact the police department immediately so that we can speak with them.

On 07/05/2017, at approximately 7:05 PM, Gold Hill Patrol Officers responded to the south side of Prospect Lake reference a shooting. Arriving Officers located one male, with obvious gunshot related trauma, that was transported to an area hospital. The medical status of the victim is not available at this time. The Violent Crimes Section Homicide Unit responded and has taken over the investigation.
Investigators believe there were individuals in the area at the time of the shooting and is requesting any information that can assist in this investigation.

On 07/04/2017 at approximately 1:07 AM the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service of a Robbery at a 7-11 Store in the 3500 block of North Academy Boulevard. The investigation revealed that two suspects wearing dark clothing entered the store. One suspect was holding a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in a white sedan. The employees at the 7-11 Store were not harmed during the robbery. The investigation is ongoing and further information regarding any kind of robbery pattern will come from the PIO.

On Monday, 7/03/17 at approximately 0745 hours, Officer T. Ives responded to a single car traffic accident at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. During the investigation it was determined that a 72 year old female pushed the accelerator instead of the brake causing her to drive at a high rate of speed. The vehicle struck an occupied vehicle on the roadway causing minor damage before continuing off the roadway. The driver continued to accelerate through approximately 20 feet of landscaping and fencing before driving into the swimming pool, which was unoccupied. The vehicle was completely submerged in the pool when 3 guests of the resort were able to rescue the driver. The driver was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The pool was closed at the time of the incident. The driver of the vehicle was cited for careless driving. No drugs or alcohol are suspected.

As of approximately 9:05 AM, Old Stage Rd. was open to normal traffic.

The Major Accident Unit is continuing the investigation into this accident and it is believed that alcohol and high speeds are factors involved in the crash. No arrests have been made at this time.

On Monday, 07-03-17 at approximately 0052 hours, a call for service was received regarding a traffic accident on Old Stage Rd., near Compass Pt. Investigation revealed a truck occupied by two adult females had failed to negotiate a sharp turn on a steep grade and had left the roadway, coming to rest well below the level of the roadway. Both occupants sustained serious bodily injury and were transported by ambulance to area hospitals where one remains in serious but stable condition. The other was released after treatment.

Old Stage Rd., above Compass Pt. was closed to vehicle traffic and remains closed at this time. The Major Accident Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

On Sunday 07/02/2017 at approximately 1:00 am two adult males were in a parking lot of Mitchell High School when they were confronted by two suspects. One of the suspects fired a shot with a handgun which struck one of the victims. The victim was transported by friends to a local hospital where he remains with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives from the Felony Assault Unit responded to the scene and hospital and assisted with the investigation.

On July 1, 2017, at approximately 6:00 PM, from the area of the 5100 block of Laredo Ridge Drive, a 15 year old developmentally challenged white female went missing. She is 5-06, 140 pounds last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, black boots and wearing red framed eye glasses. Her first name is Hope. If seen please contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000.
An ENS (Emergency Notification System) was sent to a 1 mile radius from where she went missing.

On 07/01/2017 at approximately 2:26 a.m. the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service of a disturbance involving a machete in the 4500 block of Sunnyhill Drive. Upon arrival, Sand Creek officers located one adult male victim who sustained serious injuries from being assaulted with a machete. The suspect, a juvenile, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The suspect was charged with 1st Degree Assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital with severe, but non-life threatening injuries.
