On 02/14/15 at approximately 0103 hours Officers were dispatched to the 7 Eleven located at 1240 East Fillmore Street in response to a robbery. The suspect, an unknown race male entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk. The suspect left the store on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The suspect was described as being 5’8” to 5’10”, 200 to 220 pounds wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, a dark colored hat and had a bandana covering his face. The suspect produced a silver colored handgun possibly a semi-automatic. No one was injured during the incident.

On Friday, February 13, 2015 at approx. 8pm, a Domino's Pizza Delivery Driver had just made a delivery to an apartment building at 4110 Morning Sun in Colorado Springs. As he exited the building, he was approached by an unknown race male, approximately in his 20's-30's, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask, dark sweatshirt, dark pants, and black gloves with white skeleton hand printed on them. The suspect punched the driver in the ribs and demanded cash. The suspect ran from the scene and was unable to be located. The victim was not seriously injured.

1200 N. Academy Blvd
Location
Officers were dispatched to a restaurant in the 1200 block of N. Academy Blvd to investigate an assault in progress. It was reported that there were five males assaulting one male. As officers were en route, they were advised that the suspects had left the area in two separate vehicle travelling southbound on N. Academy Boulevard. One of the vehicles was described as a white pick-up truck and the other was described as a silver colored Subaru with a rear spoiler attached to it.
Officers located the silver Subaru and conducted a stop on it at S. Academy Blvd and Airport Road. The driver of that vehicle was arrested for DUI and interviewed as a witness to the assault. The white truck was not located.
The victim was contacted at the restaurant and he was later transported to a local hospital where he was treated for serious, but not life threatening injuries.
The suspects in the assault have not yet been identified.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of N. Circle Drive and E. Platte Avenue to investigate a traffic crash. The investigation revealed that a Toyota Yaris was travelling westbound in the right lane of E. Platte Avenue and was driving through the intersection when it was struck by a Nissan Maxima that was travelling northbound on N. Circle Drive. The traffic light for westbound traffic was green. There were two male occupants in the Nissan Maxima and they both fled the area on foot. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate them.
The driver of the Toyota Yaris was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
Northbound traffic on N. Circle Drive was shut for approximately one hour and 45 minutes while the accident was investigated. The investigation in continuing.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, 2014 at approx. 11pm, an unknown male suspect entered the Everyday convenience store at 1823 N. Circle Drive in Colorado Springs, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the cash register. The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was wearing a hoodie and had his face covered by a handkerchief. The night clerk/victim could only describe the suspect as a tan skinned, possibly Hispanic male, approx. 5'5" to 5'7" tall, with a dark colored hoodie and khaki style pants. The suspect brandished a silver handgun that was possible a revolver. The victim could provide no further description. There were no injuries.

On February 12, 2015 Detectives with the Gang Unit spotted a stolen vehicle that had been reported as being involved in a hit and run. During the hit and run the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and then fled.

As Gang Unit detectives were following the vehicle it picked up speed in an attempt to flee. A pursuit was initiated and lasted a short time before the suspect, and a female passenger, abandoned the car on Chelton Rd and fled on foot.

Gang Detectives, K-9 and Sand Creek Patrol flooded the area and were able to locate the male suspect, Michael Denman (37) and take him into custody. Denman was booked into CJC on several charges including motor vehicle theft, weapons charges and eluding. The female was not located but does not appear to pose an ongoing threat to the public

500 Blk of N, Academy Blvd

(Prequel to ETAC entry on 20999).
On 02/11/2015 at approximately 1025hrs, Officer Scott Carnes was dispatched to the 500 Blk of North Academy Blvd to investigate the theft of several expensive guitars.

Officer Carnes contacted the RP/victim, who gave the following statement. The RP stated a male entered the business and removed a Taylor Custom Acoustic Guitar without pay for it. The suspect then got into a U-haul vehicle, which displayed Arizona license plates. The RP was able to obtain the license plate number and give it to Officer Carnes.

(It should be noted that this same suspect was also involved in another theft of three additional guitars that was previously reported to police).

Officer Carnes was able to locate the information for the renter of the U-Haul. After continued investigation and interviews the suspect was positively ID in both theft cases. The approximate value of all the guitars that were taken was $14,000 dollars.

Subsequently, the suspect was arrested by Gold Hill Officers (Reference ETACS 20999)

000 block of S. Nevada Ave

On 02-12-15 at 0406 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 000 block of S. Nevada Ave regarding an unknown call for police. Officers determined Mr. Maurice Cooper (30 yo male) was likely in a building in the area and had several outstanding charges for felony theft.

Cooper was contacted in a common area of the building at approximately 0531 hours. After ignoring verbal commands to stop, Mr. Cooper ran from officers and was apprehended in the 000 block of S. Nevada Ave.

During the arrest, OC spray and a taser were deployed, ultimately detaining Cooper. After Cooper was taken into custody for 2nd Degree Assault on a Peace officer, it was discovered he had approximately 1.5 gms of suspected methamphetamine on his person.

Cooper was booked into CJC on his felony theft charges as well as Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Obstruction of a Peace Officer.

On the above date and time officers of the Sand Creek Division were dispatched to the Sportsmen’s Warehouse, on a reported shoplift involving a female suspect. The female was in custody for the shoplift as well as an unrelated warrant when she became combative with officers. The suspect bit one officer in the leg while he was trying to control her. The female was ultimately pepper sprayed for her continued resistance. The female was arrested for multiple charges to include 2nd Degree Assault on a Peace Officer, and was later booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on all charges.

Location
On Monday, February 9, 2015, a federal grand jury returned indictments in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado in Denver charging Phinehas McNeal, aged 28, and Ann McNeal, aged 54, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Phinehas McNeal was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and Ann McNeal with orchestrating the straw-purchase of firearms for Phinehas McNeal.

The matter was originally investigated on November 29, 2014 by the Colorado Springs Police Department Patrol Division with the assistance of CSPD detectives assigned to the CSPD and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Joint Task Force.
