On the above date and time, Sand Creek officers were dispatched to an auto-pedestrian accident at the intersection of E. Bijou St and N. Academy Blvd. Investigation revealed a 2007 Ford F250 pickup truck was eastbound on E. Bijou St, attempting to turn northbound onto N. Academy Blvd. when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing westbound across N. Academy Blvd. The adult pedestrian was in the crosswalk when he was struck. He suffered serious bodily injury to include a skull fracture and a subdermal hematoma and is listed in stable condition at a local hospital. The driver of the truck, 56 year old Daniel Lindsey was cited for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk and careless driving resulting in injury. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in this accident.

Officers of the Falcon Division were dispatched to a three vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the 5000 block of N. Academy Bl. Investigation revealed a vehicle made an illegal left turn onto southbound N. Academy Bl when it was struck by two northbound vehicles. The investigation is continuing at this time and all southbound lanes of Academy are closed at Lehman Dr pending the vehicles being towed out of the lanes of traffic.

On 11/01/13 at about 7:22 AM, officers from the Falcon Division responded to a robbery in progress at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 7290 Commerce Center Dr.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a hotel employee walked in on the suspect, Ian McNeill (24), while he was stealing items from an office area of the hotel. When the suspect was confronted, he tried to leave the room with items belonging to the victim. She tried to stop him, at which time the suspect pushed the victim. The victim was pulled the suspect's shirt and glasses off before he was able to flee the scene.

Officer D. Wilberding responded and was checking the area when he saw the suspect walking on the east side of I-25. The suspect had created a make-shift poncho from some found cloth. The victim positively identified the suspect and he was taken into custody.

McNeill was charged with Robbery and Second Degree Burglary. He was booked into CJC.

On 11/01/13, at approximately 5:45 am, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call of a male that had just jumped out of a second story window of the apartment complex at 3955 Harmony Drive. After jumping out the window, the male started a disturbance with other residents at the apartment complex, stripped off his clothing, and began to run around the complex naked. The male suspect then started banging his head into a hallway window, breaking the window. The suspect received lacerations to his head and was covered in blood. Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody for the damage to the window. The suspect was transported to Memorial Central for medical treatment. The suspect was identified as Johnny Martinez (28 years old). It is suspected that Mr. Martinez was under the influence of an unknown narcotic.

On 10/31/13 at approximately 2231 hours, Gold Hill Division Officers were dispatched to Memorial Hospital Central regarding a shooting victim who arrived in a private vehicle.
Officers contacted the male adult victim and learned his injury was not life threatening. The victim stated he was walking near the intersection of E Fountain Bl and S Chelton Rd when a white sedan drove past him and one of the occupants shot him. The victim described the occupants as wearing some type of masks and could not provide any further descriptions of the occupants or vehicle. The investigation is on-going.

2115 Aerotech Drive, Comfort Inn
Location
Officers were dispatched to the Comfort Inn, 3115 Aerotech Drive to investigate a robbery that had just occurred.

Two suspects entered the front lobby of the hotel and approached the night clerk at the front desk. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. After getting the money from the clerk, both suspects fled on foot.

The suspects were described as Asian or Hispanic males in their twenties. Both were wearing dark colored clothing and bandanas over their faces. They were both between 5'6' and 5'8" tall with medium builds. The gun that was used was described as a black semi-automatic handgun.

Officers checked the area, to include the other hotels in the area, but the suspects were not located. No one was injured.

On 11/01/13 at 0048 hours, Officer Marshall contacted David McIver, a 42 year old male who was parked on Purgatory Dr. east of N. Union Blvd. passed out in the driver seat of a running vehicle. Officer Marshall was able to wake Mr. McIver up by opening the driver door of the vehicle. Officer Marshall told Mr. McIver to get out of the vehicle but he would not comply to verbal commands. Officer Marshall was able to get Mr. McIver out of the vehicle with the help of Officer Moore. Mr. McIvor continued to resist officers and a TASER was used to gain control of Mr. McIver. Mr. McIver was arrested for Obstructing a Police Officer and DUI.

At about 8:25pm, on 10/31/13, multiple officers from several divisions were dispatched to investigate a possible home invasion in the 6100 block of Breeze Ct.
Upon arrival, officers determined that two black male suspects unlawfully entered the residence and demanded money from the occupants at gunpoint. The suspects were described as having stocky builds, wearing all black clothing with masks, and each suspect possessed a handgun. The suspects fled the location and were not located.
The investigation is continuing.

3550 W. High St. Red Rock Canyon

On 10/31/2013 at approximately 3:00pm, Gold Hill Property Detectives were doing proactive enforcement in the area of Red Rock Canyon Park. Detectives observed the arrestee, later identified as 25 year old Anthony Row, pull in and park his car in the parking lot. He exited his vehicle and walked around the lot looking into other parked cars. Row then returned to his car and moved it a couple of spaces away, next to the victim's vehicle. The investigation revealed that one of the occupants of the victim's vehicle had left the door unlocked and multiple occupants had left their personal belongings inside of the vehicle. Row entered the victim's vehicle through the unlocked car door and stole two purses left inside. He then returned to his vehicle, where officers attempted to contact him. After a short foot pursuit, officers took Row into custody. Row was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on charges of First Degree Criminal Trespass (breaking into the car), identity theft, possession of burglary tools, Possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, and other charges.
As we head into the holiday season, the Police Department would like to remind everyone to lock their cars and to not leave anything of value in plain view.

2700 Block of E. Uintah Street
Location
On 10/31/2013, at approximately 1958 hours, a 911 call was received regarding a robbery involving a weapon. A 19 year old male drove to the 2700 block of E. Uintah Street to meet a female acquaintance who owed the male some money. When the victim made contact with the female, 5 Hispanic males ran towards the victim. One of the males placed a knife to the side of the victim's head, while another male shoved a small semi-automatic handgun into the victim's mouth, breaking off a portion of his front tooth. The male suspects struck the victim several times in the face and head, taking his wallet, cellular telephone and house keys. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for multiple contusions and lacerations to his head and face.

The victim did not provide much information about the suspects other than to say they were all Hispanic males, approximately 18-30 years of age, all wearing dark blue or black clothing with the number "13" on the clothing. The victim described three of the males exiting a gold colored 1995-2000 Cadillac Deville just before the robbery.
