On the above date and time, officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of E. Platte Ave, on a reported call of a bomb threat to a business. An unknown caller called the location with a bomb threat. Store managers for the location elected to evacuate the store and a complete sweep was conducted in a joint effort between CSPD and store managers. No suspicious item was located. The store was re-opened to shoppers at 3:53PM.

On December 5, 2017, the El Paso County Coronerís Office completed the autopsy of the deceased adult male found in the 400 block of East Fountain Boulevard on December 3, 2017.

The deceased male has been identified as 50 year old Eugene Henrey Wildeman, a resident of Colorado Springs.

Mr. Wildemanís death is the 30th homicide investigated by the Colorado Springs Police Department in 2017. The City of Colorado Springs had 21 homicides at this time last year.

On December 3, 2017, at approximately 10:22 AM, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a deceased male in the area of 400 East Fountain Boulevard. Upon arrival on scene, Officers located a deceased adult male lying along the bank of Fountain Creek as it passes under the bridge in the 400 block of East Fountain Boulevard.

Detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Violent Crimes Section responded to investigate this incident as a suspicious death. This is an ongoing investigation that will likely have the westbound lanes of the 400 block of East Fountain Boulevard closed until approximately 7:00 PM today.

On December 2, 2017, the Deadly Force Investigation Team responded to the 1500 block of South Nevada Avenue regarding an Officer Involved Shooting involving two Colorado Springs Police officers that resulted in the death of the suspect.

The Deadly Force Investigation Team is investigating this Officer Involved Shooting. Colorado Revised Statute 16-2.5-301 provides the statutory requirements for these investigations.

This death is the 29th homicide investigated in Colorado Springs this year. The City of Colorado Springs had 21 homicides at this time last year.

At approximately 0313 hours on 12-05-2017, CSPD officers were dispatched to a reported robbery in progress at a hotel in the located at 7100 block of Commerce Center Dr in Colorado Springs. When officers arrived on scene they made contact with the night victim and were advised he had just been robbed by a black male with a handgun. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. There was no information pertaining to a possible vehicle associated with the suspect. There were no injuries reported at the time of this incident. Officers checked the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful.

The deceased male has been identified as 55 year old Charles Gene Lucas, a resident of Colorado Springs.

On 12/03/2017 at 7:19 AM, Officers from the Falcon Division responded to a traffic accident in the 5500 block of N Union Blvd. Upon arrival on scene, officers located a vehicle that had apparently left the roadway and struck a tree. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to a local hospital. Alcohol and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors to the accident. The passenger sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injury as a result of the crash. The CSPD Major Accident Unit was notified and did respond. The accident is still under investigation at this time. The right lane of northbound Union Blvd will be closed for the duration of the investigation. The other two northbound lanes are open.

Both the boyfriend and girlfriend involved were intoxicated and unable to provide Officers with a clear understanding of how they got cut.

The Domestic Violence unit was called out and responded to lead the investigation. At this time the investigation is on-going charges pending.

Late Thursday night, just before 11PM, a grey or black small, newer sedan parked near the rear door of the Papa John's, near Union and Monument, two white or Hispanic men exited the car and entered the back door of the business. They went to the register and demanded cash while menacing the victims with what was described as handguns. After the employees complied, the suspects, who were all dressed in black, with their faces covered, fled in an unknown direction in the suspect vehicle.

On November 30, 2017, at 2147 hours, two suspects displaying handguns entered the Texas Roadhouse located at 3120 N. Powers Blvd. The suspects who were carrying a bag demanded the contents of the cash register from the hostess. The suspects then fled the scene in a small black sedan. Both suspects were described as being tall slender white males. Suspect #1 was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a black bandana. Suspect #2 was wearing a gray sweatshirt with a green shirt over it and white sunglasses. No employees or customers were injured. The suspects did not obtain any currency from the business.
