Title
8280 Highway 83 (Howard Johnson Inn)
Location
Falcon Shift III officers were conducting a directed patrol deployment for the purpose of locating/arresting/interviewing individuals involved in the illegal carrying of firearms, BMV, MVT, and Burglary.

Officer Shelby Mann contacted a female walking near 8250 Razorback Road (WalMart). The female claimed that she was staying at the Howard Johnson Inn, located at 8280 Voyager Parkway, room #425 and that she had just left there after arguing with her boyfriend and his mother. The female provided false identifying information. Additional officers responded to the Howard Johnson Inn to attempt to find out the female’s identity.

Once there, officers were invited into room #425. Inside the room officers saw, in plain view, a GPS unit in its original box and plastic wrapping on the bed and what appeared to be electronic items in their original boxes in an unzipped duffle bag on the floor. Officers also noticed, on the bed, anti-theft devices commonly affixed to merchandise to alert the store if the items were leaving the store without the device(s) being taken off.

Location
On 02/01/2013 at 1:36 AM Officer T.J. Wihera was in the area of Hancock Expressway and Silver Hawk Ave when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked next to the curb facing north. As Officer Wihera passed the vehicle he was able to observe on lone male suspect sitting in the car talking on a cellular phone. Upon contact the suspect was detained by Officer Wihera, Officer Woodworth and Officer Hale who further learned that the vehicle in question was listed as a current CSPD stolen motor vehicle. During the follow-up investigation the suspect was found to be in possession of multiple items linked to other BMV crimes from various areas of the city. The investigation is in the early stages however it appears the property recovered from the suspect can be linked to at least four other BMV cases at this time.
