On the above date and time, Sand Creek officers were dispatched to a stabbing call near the 4300 block of Airport Rd. While in route, dispatch aired the victim was stabbed by the suspect while sitting in his vehicle. Dispatch also aired the suspect was a black male, 20’s, 5’6” to 5’7” with a medium build. The suspect was wearing a black shirt, dark jeans and had short braids. When officers arrived, both the suspect and the victim were no longer on scene. While officers were conducting their investigation, the victim returned to the scene and provided officers with additional details regarding this incident. The victim had a small laceration on his left side, but declined medical attention. The suspect has not been located and the investigation is ongoing.

On the above date an time officers were dispatched to a reported home invasion at 216 W. Harrison St. but upon arrival officers determined a home invasion did not occur. Further investigation revealed a male resident was threatened and assaulted with a knife which resulted in minor injuries by an unknown suspect who had been allowed into the house by the homeowner. The suspects fled prior to police arrival. At this time only limited suspect information is available.

Location
Officers from the Stetson Hills Division were dispatched to the intersection of Powers Blvd and Barnes Rd with reference to a two car traffic crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1994 Chevrolet pick-up truck was eastbound on Barnes road allegedly ran a red light and struck a 2000 Toyota Corolla that was being operated in the southbound lanes of Powers Blvd. The adult male driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for serious but non- life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck had been drinking and was evaluated by a DUI Specialist; but was not arrested for DUI. That driver of the truck was uninjured and was served and released with a misdemeanor traffic summons for careless driving causing injuries.

During the day on 06/09/2017 members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and CSPD Metro Vice, Narcotics, and Intelligence (MVNI)began to develop information about the whereabouts of a armed and dangerous fugitive by the name of Jason Robert Lopez, a 45 year old Hispanic male. This information eventually led officers to the area of Motor City and members of the Tactical Enforcement Unit and CSPD K-9 were called to the area. Around 9:20pm the suspect was spotted walking in the area. As units approached, the suspect ran and was apprehended while trying to break into a residence in the 00 block of W Brookside Street.

Lopez was wanted on multiple nationwide extradition warrants out of El Paso County. Officers also located a handgun in the area where Lopez was running.

On 06/08/09 at approximately 0100 hours, officers responded to the 1500 block of Swope Ave to contact a juvenile male who had multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. When officers knocked on the front door of the residence and made contact with a resident, the juvenile suspect fled the home through a window on the back side. Officers made contact with the juvenile suspect in an alleyway and ordered him to stop. The juvenile suspect continued to flee and a K-9 was released to apprehend him. The K-9 contacted the juvenile suspect and stopped his fleeing actions. The juvenile suspect received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the K-9 contact and was treated for his injuries at a local hospital.

Officers with the Gold Hill Division were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Nevada Av. to investigate a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect on top of a nearby building. The subject refused orders to climb off the building and threw a television antenna at a marked police cruiser breaking two windows and the light bar. The subject maneuvered to a position in which he was clinging to the roof by his hands with his feet dangling about 15 to 20 feet above the ground. Officers were able to grab him before he let go, preventing a fall that would certainly result in SBI. The investigation into the assault report led to the subject's arrest for Felony Menacing. He was also charged with Felony Criminal Mischief for the damage he caused during the episode.

On 06/05/15 at approximately 0100 hours, officers were dispatched to Memorial Central Hospital to investigate an assault. The victim reported a neighbor came to his apartment because of his music being too loud. Words were exchanged followed by the suspect(neighbor) pulling out an unknown object from his pants front waist band. The suspect repeatedly hit the victim with the object causing injury and then returned to his apartment. The victim suffered serious bodily injury to his right eye along with having welts caused by the object. Officers responded to the scene in an attempt to make contact with the suspect. Upon knocking and announcing, the officers watched as the suspect and another male ran from the living room down the hall into a bedroom. It was later learned the suspect's girlfriend was also in the apartment. Numerous announcements were made and all of the parties refused to exit the apartment. As a search warrant was being obtained, the girlfriend's mother was in the parking lot and upon seeing what was occurring, convinced the parties to exit the apartment. An approximately two foot long wood dowel was recovered from beneath a couch cushion and was identified as the object used by the suspect. There were no reported injuries to citizens, officers or suspects or damage to property during the standoff.

On 6/4/17 at approximately 1900 hours, officers from Falcon Division were dispatched to the 2600 block of Bluffside Terrace in reference to a burglary. Initial information indicated that the suspect, later identified as Brian Thompson, unlawfully entered a home and was confronted by the home owner. The home owner struck the suspect in the head and pushed him out of the house. The suspect ran from the area and entered an occupied vehicle in the area of Centennial and Silent Rain. He exited that vehicle and attempted to get into another before he was taken into custody. Thompson was transported to a local hospital for treatment before he will be booked into CJC.

On June 3, 2017, at approximately 4:41PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 3000 block of South Academy Boulevard regarding a shooting. When officers arrived on scene they discovered hundreds of people attending a Community Event in the parking lot. Witnesses reported numerous shots fired at the scene. Witnesses further related that one adult male victim was transported by a friend to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition is critical, but stable.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section, Assault Unit, responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. This is an active criminal investigation. The suspect is not in custody at the time of this release.
