At approximately 0350 hours, Falcon officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at 7100 Commerce Center Dr. with no lights on. They attempted to make contact but the vehicle fled the area and was located nearby shortly after and determined to be a stolen vehicle. The suspects were not in the vehicle. Multiple vehicles were broken into and items stolen. Suspects have not been located at this time.

On the above date and time, officers from the Falcon Divison were dispatched to a robbery in the 7100 block of Commerce Center Dr. The investigation revealed that a suspect entered the location, pointed a gun at the victim, and demanded money. The suspect left the scene in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as an older white male wearing blue jeans, a green sweater, a black motorcycle helmet, and black gloves.

The traffic signal at Voyager Parkway and Middle Creek Parkway is currently out. The intersection is down to one lane each direction and is a four way stop. As a result, there are traffic back-ups in the area. People are encourage to avoid the area. The signals are expected to be out for several hours.

2600 Villa Loma Drive
Location
Stetson Hills Officers were dispatched to a weapons brandishing in the 2600 block of Villa Loma Drive. The investigation revealed that twenty eight year old William Cooper of Colorado Springs was intoxicated and unlawfully in poossession of a loaded .40 firearm. Cooper was seen by neighbors and by officers in the back yard and on the sidewalk near the front of his residence on Penacho Cirlce. Two different neighbors called the police to report Mr. Cooper’s behavior. One neighbor saw Cooper firing a loaded BB gun at his fence. Seconds later; Cooper threatened this same neighbor with use of a weapon. A short time later Officers were positioned around the suspect’s residence. During that time Mr. Cooper was seen nervously pacing in the area and “working the slide” of a long gun in the back yard. At one point Mr. Cooper exited the residence and walked out onto a public sidewalk in front of the location holding a hand gun, he was detained by officers at that time. Mr. Cooper was clearly intoxicated and in possession of a loaded .40 caliber hand gun. Cooper was charged with three counts of felony menacing a misdemeanor count of menacing and one count of weapons possession prohibited. No further follow up at this time.

Location
On the above date and time, officers from the Falcon Division were notified of the location of a wanted fugitive, identified as Karrar Alkammasi, who was reported to be armed with a handgun. Officers were able to confirm that Alkammasi was at the location. Containment was setup around the suspect’s location and contact was made with him. After negotiating with Alkammasi for almost 20 minutes, officers were able to take him into custody without incident. He was found to be in possession of a handgun. Alkammasi was booked into jail on his arrest warrant as well as a new charge of Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender.

3800 Block of Astrozon Blvd
Location
On January 7, 2018, at approximately 7:50 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 3800 block of Astrozon Boulevard reference a man down. When officers arrived on scene they located a male in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and initiated a death investigation. Detectives are conducting interviews. Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians are processing the crime scene.

100 Block of Motor Way
Location
On January 7, 2018, at approximately 7:21 PM, Officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Motor Way regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male with an apparent gunshot wound. The Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived on scene and attempted life saving measures. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for this investigation. Detectives are interviewing multiple witnesses. Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians are processing the crime scene.

800 Block of Cheyenne Meadows Road

On January 6, 2018, at approximately 9:45AM, officers from the Gold Hill Division located a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Cheyenne Meadows Road. As the officers were setting up to watch the vehicle and see if someone would come back to it several people got into the vehicle to leave. As the officers pulled up, the vehicle struck an unoccupied parked vehicle attempting to flee and the occupants got out running on foot.

With the use of a tazer, an officer was able to catch the driver running away. Unfortunately, the other occupants doubled back to the stolen vehicle and left the area in it. Officers are continuing to investigate and trying to locate the stolen vehicle. No one was hurt and minor damage to the parked car.

Suspect attempted to enter the gas station but the doors were locked. The clerk saw the suspect was holding a handgun so he refused to unlock the door. The suspect, as he was walking away, fired 4 shots towards the gas station and struck a large glass window next to the door. Suspect last seen running north. No reported injuries. On 01/06/2018, at approximately 03:27AM officers from the Stetson Hills Division were dispatched to a business in the 6400 block of Source Center Point to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed a male wearing all black clothing and black mask covering his face walked into the business. The male had a black colored handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. Officers checked the area, but did not locate the suspect. The suspect was thought to be approximately 5’10” tall with a thin build.
