Arrest
Title
600 Nlock of N. Union Blvd
Location
On 04/08/2014 at 10:14 AM, Sand Creek Officer Bill Watson, while on routine patrol, observed three persons talking in the street in the 1800 block of Willamette Avenue. As Officer Watson drove closer he observed a male and female walk north in the alley from Willamette. The third person he recognized as the owner of a nearby business. The owner told Officer Watson that the male and female walking away had tried to steal from his store, and when confronted became argumentative with the owner.

Officer Watson then drove up in an attempt to contact the male and female and tell them that they were not allowed back in the business. As Officer Watson approached; he observed that male reach for something from his waist band and place it on the ground behind a large concrete wall. As Officer Watson was contacting the male, Tino Anthony Vigil, the female walked to the area of the concrete wall and picked up what Officer Watson could now clearly see was handgun. The female began to walk away to the north, at which time Officer Watson ordered her to drop the firearm, which she did. The female continued north in the alley. The male, Tino Vigil also began to walk away. Officer Watson was able to retrieve the firearm and take Tino Vigil into custody. The firearm was reported stolen in 2013.
The female was apprehended a short time later by Officer Dale Zehner with the assistance of Sand Creek Shift 1 officers and K-9 units. Tino Vigil was charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Concealed Weapon and theft.
