On the above date and time Ridgeview Elementary school staff notified CSPD regarding a suspicious note. The note belonged to a 9 year old student. Although the note did not indicate a specific threat, the School Resource Officer conducted an investigation. On May 8th, 2014 at 10:34 AM, CSPD Officers were dispatched to an in progress burglary call for service where two male suspects were observed entering a home through a window. Officers arrived on scene and established containment on the residence. It was determined that the residents had accidently locked themselves out of the home, and had entered through a window. While initially setting up containment, one of the arriving officers injured his ankle while scaling a fence. The officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Garden of the Gods Park
Location
On the above date and time, officers were dispatched to Garden of the Gods Park in response to a disturbance with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 21 year old female who stated she believed a male, whom she only knew as Matt, was attempting to assault one of her friends, who was passed out in the back of Mattís truck. She attempted to get her friend out of the truck, at which time Matt pointed a handgun at her, told her to back off and that he was taking the friend home. The investigation led officers to the 100 block of Trout Ave where officers were able to contact the suspect, 41 year old Matthew Craig, and the victimís friend, a 25 year old female. The female told us that she was not assaulted or taken against her will. A pellet gun matching the description of the handgun the victim saw was found in Mr. Craigís truck. Mr. Craig was arrested and taken to the Criminal Justice Center for charges of Felony Menacing.

On 05/08/14 at approximately 0249 hours, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service regarding a robbery at 8105 N Academy Bl, the business of Diamond Shamrock. Officers from the Falcon Division arrived on scene however the suspect left prior to their arrival. The clerk reported to officers that a male suspect entered the store with a hand gun and demanded money. The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. 803 N Wahsatch Ave.
Location
Officers were dispatched to 803 N Wahsatch Ave for a burglary in progress. A resident in a neighboring house observed someone break into the storm cellar of 803 N Wahsatch Ave. Officers arrived and heard several loud bangs as they approached the residence. As they reached the cellar door officers heard a shotgun blast and glass sprayed the officers. One officer suffered minor injures to his extremites. Officers retreated and a perimeter was set. Several announcements were made and the suspect, Seth Ebert, exited the residence and was taken into custody. During a search for further suspects a defaced firearm and a short shotgun were found. No other suspects were found. The suspect did not live in this residence and had forced his way into the cellar. Suspect was arrested for Attempted Murder of Police Officer and other charges and taken to CJC.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in regard to an indecent exposure. Officers contacted three juveniles and their parents. The children stated they were in the area of Stratton Meadows Elementary School when a blue sedan pulled up next to them in the street. The male described as a white or hispanic male, black hair, heavy set, approx: 25 years opened the drivers door. The males pants were already down and they observed the male touching himself inappropriately. The children started walking away and the male followed in the car for a short time and then drove away.

On 5/7/14 at 7:57PM CSPD was notified of a traffic accident at Rockrimmon Bl. and Mark Dabling Bl. A dump truck with an attached trailer parked in a field approximately 1/4 of a mile west of 120 South Rockrimmon Bl appeared to have broken free and rolled 1/8 of a mile east until it hit a utility box. After striking the utility box, both the truck and utility box were engulfed in flames. Investigation is ongoing.

On Tuesday, 05/06/2014 CSPD Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Endicott Dr. to a disturbance involving a shotgun. A suspect had returned to a party after having been asked to leave, he was armed with a shotgun and threatening to kill the homeowner. The suspect pointed the shotgun at the victim, then pointed it in the air and fired one round. The suspect then returned home, which was next door to the location of occurrence. Officers obtained a search warrant for the suspectís residence, and an arrest warrant for his arrest. When negotiations for the suspect to surrender failed, TEU responded to the scene. When those negotiations failed, OC was introduced inside the suspectís residence. The suspect surrendered to TEU without further incident about 45 seconds later. The suspect was arrested for felony menacing, and multiple weapons violations. The shotgun used during the occurrence was recovered during the execution of search warrant.

On 04/25/2014, multiple victims to include School District 20 reported their business, homes and vehicles had been vandalized by unknown suspects who had spray painted their property. Detectives from the Stetson Hills Division conducted follow up and on 05/06/2014, arrested Joshua Hiett for felony Criminal Mischief. A second suspect with a possible first name of "Scott" and hangs out at Fairfax Park is being sought for questioning. If you know this person call Det. Garcia at 444-31221. Attached is a photo of Scott wearing the white hat.
