Title
Academy Blvd and Maizeland Rd
Location
Officers assigned to the Stetson Hills Division responded to the UC Health ER located at 2770 Powers Blvd with reference to a second degree assault/stabbing. The initial information received from the twenty five year old male victim indicated that a road rage situation occurred. The incident began in the southbound lanes of N. Academy Blvd at intersection with Austin Bluffs Parkway. The victim is visiting from out of town and was a passenger in a car (that was first in line at a red light) that was being driven by his sister. As the southbound traffic light turned from red to green, a driver or an occupant of a vehicle behind the car the victim was in, blew the horn (possibly in reaction to a delayed start from the light by the victimís sister due to the traffic conditions in front of her). Shortly thereafter; a road rage situation occurred and the victim voluntarily exited the car he was riding in and an argument occurred with the other vehicle occupant or driver. The end result of the conflict was that the victim was stabbing in his left side with an unknown black object. The stab wound was just above his kidney and is not life threatening and the victim was treated and released. The suspect fled the area in a white car but officers did receive limited suspect information from witnesses. Any persons that witnessed the event that occurred at around 9:00 PM on Friday July 17th 2015 in the area of Academy and Austin Bluffs, Academy and Carefree, Academy and Maizeland or Academy and Constitution are urged to call 719-444-7000.
