Title
Salt Lake City, Utah
Location
On 04/21/2015 at about 3:30PM, the CSPD Robbery Unit responded, along with Stetson Hills officers, to a robbery call at the U.S. Bank branch located at 2890 N. Powers Blvd. Robbery Unit Detectives immediately began developing leads and were quickly able to identify a suspect in the holdup.

The man approached a teller and demanded cash while threatening to use an explosive device. He was last seen walking south from the front doors of the building. Detectives determined he went into a nearby business, where he waited to be picked up. He left the shopping center and was dropped off several miles away, after making some purchases at another business in the area. After an identification was made, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 25 year-old Juan Carlos Vergara, of Utah. By the next morning, investigators learned Vergara had likely already left the state. The Salt Lake City Police Department was notified of his possible presence in the area, and they immediately went into action. They quickly located Mr. Vergara in a hotel and he was arrested on the robbery warrant. He is currently in custody in Salt Lake City, awaiting extradition back to Colorado Springs.
