UPDATE: The child and his parents have been reunited. After investigation there are no criminal charges.


On 05/21/2017 at approximately 3:01 a.m. the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service regarding a found child walking on North Academy Boulevard near Rebecca Lane. Officers arrived in the area and contacted a private security officer who found the child. Officers and private security personnel checked multiple apartment complexes looking for any open doors or responsible parties for the child. The parents/responsible parties of the child were not located and DHS was notified to assist with the investigation. The child was approximately a 2-3 year old white male and he could not provide any information to officers regarding his name or where he lives. If anyone has information regarding the found child please call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000.

On 05-21-17 at approximately 0100 hours Sand Creek officers responded to Memorial Hospital in regards to a stabbing. The victim reported he had been involved in a disturbance in the parking lot of 1826 East Platte Avenue over a minor traffic accident. The victim told officers during the incident he was stabbed in the back by an unknown suspect. The victim sustained minor injury and was treated and released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

May 20, 2017 {Release at Will}

On May 20, 2017, at approximately 7:19PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 5600 block of Vermillion Bluffs Drive regarding a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a male inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is listed as critical and unstable.

The Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Violent Crimes Section, Homicide Unit, responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. This is an active criminal investigation. Detectives are interviewing a person of interest. All individuals are accounted for. There is no threat to the community.

Two of the drivers were transported to the hospital for serious but non life threatening injuries. South bound traffic on S Academy Bl is closed between Pace Dr and S Chelton Rd. Austin Bluffs Parkway and Oro Blanco Dr
Location
On 05/19/17 at approximately 2:20 am a Stetson Hills Officer discovered a stolen vehicle driving north on Austin Bluffs Parkway. This same Officer followed the vehicle while awaiting cover. When a cover officer arrived both attempted to pull over the stolen vehicle which caused the driver to run.

A short pursuit ensued until the stolen vehicle hit a curb causing a flat tire. The driver was arrested on scene for Motor Vehicle Theft and Eluding. A second suspect who was the passenger ran from the scene and was not found. No one was injured during this incident.

On the above date and time the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call from a reporting party that he was following a stolen white Dodge Caravan. Officers from the Sand Creek Division attempted to locate the reporting party but he continued following the van around the division, leading officers to continue unsuccessfully looking for him. A call was finally received of a disturbance in the 2900 block of E Platte Ave involving the reporting party and the occupants of the white van. Officers arrived on scene and detained the reporting party and the two occupants of the white minivan. Investigation revealed the van was not stolen and that there was a civil issue between the reporting party and one of the occupants over money owed for the van. The reporting party was arrested for charges including Reckless Endangerment and Harassment. The female occupant of the van was not charged at this time. The male occupant of the van was arrested for offenses involving controlled substances.
