On Friday April 22, 2016 just shortly before 10:30 p.m. members of the CSPD Impact Team out of the Stetson Hills Division responded to the 2000 block of South Academy Boulevard to attempt to contact a wanted fugitive, 38 year old Robert Fernandez. Mr. Fernandez was wanted on two felony warrants and five misdemeanor warrants. Upon arrival, officers located Mr. Fernandez in a parking lot, inside a vehicle. As officers approached him, Mr. Fernandez put his vehicle in reverse and backed into a police vehicle at a low speed, causing minor damage. Officers placed Mr. Fernandez under arrest without further incident. There were no injuries as a result of the vehicles making contact.

On Thursday, April 7th, the Sand Creek Impact team initiated a Motor Vehicle Theft investigation and recovered three stolen vehicles with a combined total worth of $19,600.00 on that date. The SC Impact team identified a crime ring involving six individuals who were working in concert with one another to steal motor vehicles throughout Colorado Springs.

The SC Impact Team made application and affidavit for six arrest warrants and one search warrant detailing Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony Theft, and Conspiracy, upon conclusion of the criminal investigation.

On Friday, 04/22/2016, the CSPD Impact Team's from Sand Creek, Gold Hill, and Falcon executed a search warrant in the 2600 block of Reeve Circle, and conducted a city wide search for the six wanted parties.

Four of the six wanted parties have been located, and two parties are actively still being sought.

Arrested were: David Hendrickson (35 YOA white male), Christopher Awbrey (31 YOA white male), Matthew Akins (29 YOA white male), and Tyler Polk (19 YOA white male).

Bailey Matthews (21 YOA white female) and Gabriel Ibanez (35 YOA Hispanic male) are the two parties who have not been located, and are both presently wanted. The public is asked to call 911 if Matthews or Ibanez are seen.

On the morning of Friday, 04-22-2016, at 9:59AM, Gold Hill Division officers were dispatched to Memorial Hospital Central to investigate a domestic disturbance.

Initial investigation determined an adult female had been assaulted at a residence in the 3100 block of East Dale Street earlier on this date.

Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Section were contacted and assumed the investigation, resulting in the issuance of an Arrest Warrant against Randy Lee Sutton for Attempted Murder and additional criminal charges.

Sutton's location is currently unknown. He is a 51-year-old black male, 5-09, 215 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Persons with information regarding Randy Sutton's whereabouts are asked to immediately contact the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Phillips 66 at 1233 N. Circle Dr. Investigation revealed that two male suspects entered the store and took items without paying for them. Upon the store clerk contacting them, one of the suspects eluded to having a weapon but one was not seen. Both suspects left the store. Canine Sgt. Cummings saw the suspect vehicle fleeing westbound on Platte Ave. When Sgt. Cummings caught up to the suspect vehicle it was in the area of Platte Ave/Wahsatch Ave. The two male suspects attempted to flee and one was caught while the other one was unable to be located. No injuries were reported and the property was returned to the owner. The male suspect who was not captured is described as a Hispanic Male, 30's, Black hair, black BB cap, LSW a black jacket. Investigation is continuing.

On April 21st, Thursday afternoon, officers met the grandma of a 9YO boy who had run away from home, in the 3300 block of Bridgewater Drive around 1PM Thursday. He had been in trouble at his school, and was upset about his 17YO brother also being a runaway. Other than his eager willingness to be on the lam, initial threat assessments indicated nothing suspicious. The boy was last seen running EB on Morning Mist Drive toward Hancock Expy.

On 04-20-16 at approximately 2330 hours Sand Creek officers responded to the 3600 block of El Morro Road in regards to a Felony Menacing. A female party called 911 reporting a male inside her home was pointing a gun at her and other residents threatening to shoot them. The male fled on foot as Officers arrived in the area. Officers Calloway and Sunderlin began patrolling the area and spotted the male. When officers attempted to contact the male he fled jumping fences and ran into the creek bed area between Delta Drive and Academy Blvd.
Sand Creek officers set up containment and Canine Officer Radke and Police Canine Ozzie were called out. Canine Ozzie tracked to the male who was hiding in thick brush and made contact with the male. Officers were able to take the male into custody safely. The male was transported to the hospital for minor injuries sustained from Canine Ozzie. He was charged with multiple crimes to include 1st Degree Burglary and Felony Menacing.

On 04/20/2016 at 8:54 AM, officers responded to a robbery at the Popeye’s Famous Fried Chicken located in the 2800 block of E Fountain Blvd. Upon arrival, police located an employee of the restaurant who reported being robbed at gunpoint while preparing to open the business. The suspect fled the area on foot. A perimeter was established and a K-9 track was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The suspect was described as a white male in his twenties. At the time of the robbery he was wearing gloves and a bandana over his face. No one was injured during the robbery and the investigation is ongoing.

On Monday, April 18th, 2016 at approx. 10:14PM, the Colorado Springs Police Dept. was contacted regarding a traffic accident involving a pedestrian in the 1000blk of Garden of the Gods Rd. Upon arrival, medical personnel were treating a male lying on the ground. Officers learned that the pedestrian was walking eastbound along the south sidewalk of Garden of the Gods with his brother. The pedestrian wanted to meet his ride on the north side of the road. Without checking for oncoming traffic, the pedestrian ran north across the eastbound lanes of traffic and was struck by an oncoming car. He crossed in the middle of the roadway not in a crosswalk. The involved vehicle did not have time enough to stop before striking the pedestrian. The driver of this vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The pedestrian was moved from the roadway to the sidewalk area. He was later transported to Penrose Main Hosp. and treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained to his lower extremities. The pedestrian, identified as Christopher Collins, 26yo, was served and released for pedestrians in the roadway.
