Officers responded to a Robbery of the Diamond Shamrock located at 2455 Arlington Dr. Investigation revealed three black male suspects entered the convenience store and held the clerk at gun point. The robbers left with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in an unknown direction. Suspect #1 is a black male, with afro style hair wearing a red Chicago Bulls baseball hat, black jacket, black pants, approx 5'10", 160 lbs, armed with a silver colored handgun. Suspect #2 is a black male, 5'10", 150 lbs, blue covering over his face, white jacket, black pants. Suspect #3 is a black male, 5'8", 160 lbs, black hat, black face covering, black pants, black jacket armed with a black handgun. Suspects left in a dark 4 door sedan with a broken rear window. Investigation continuing.

**** UPDATE: Mr. Wilfong was located unharmed on 06-20-2018 ****

The Colorado Springs Police Department is attempting to locate 60-year-old Dean C. Wilfong, who has not been heard from since he last went mountain biking in Palmer Park earlier this morning. CSPD received a 911 call from a telephone linked to Mr. Wilfong just after 9:30AM, and there are concerns he is in need of emergency assistance.

Mr. Wilfong is a white male, 5-06, 155 pounds, balding, with green eyes and a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts. He may be on a grey mountain bike.

Any person with information on Mr. Wilfong’s location is asked to immediately notify CSPD at #719-444-7000.

A resident returning home caught a suspect burglarizing his home and confronted him. The suspect pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the victim as he ran from the area. As of 6:38 PM, all lanes of Fountain and Powers are open to through traffic.

On the above date and time officers of the Sand Creek Division were dispatched to a two car traffic crash in the intersection of E Fountain Bl and S Powers Bl. Investigation revealed a truck going northbound on Powers ran a red light at Fountain, striking a car traveling westbound through the intersection on a green light. The crash is across all lanes of Powers/Fountain, so the following closures apply.
Eastbound Fountain at Powers is being diverted south onto Powers Bl or straight through the intersection on Fountain, where cars can complete a u-turn to get onto northbound Powers.
Southbound Powers is closed. All traffic is being diverted onto westbound Fountain.
Northbound Powers is closed except for one through lane northbound.
Westbound Fountain is open for traffic south on Powers, but closed for northbound traffic on Powers and westbound traffic from east of the intersection.
An update will be put out when the intersection is opened again.

At approximately 0310 hours, the victim awoke to his garage door opening and went outside to find a suspect inside a running vehicle parked in front of his residence. The victim chased the vehicle but lost it and returned home. On the way home, the victim observed more suspects burglarizing a home on Daydreamer Dr. This time he chased two vehicles and tried to box them in and contact police. The suspects fired several shots at the victim which struck his vehicle causing him to stop chasing them. Investigation revealed a vehicle was stolen from the home on Daydreamer Dr. after suspects entered the home.
At approximately 03:30AM another home on Yellowtail Dr. was entered through the garage door. The residents in that home yelled at the suspects scaring them off.
At approximately 03:43AM Stetson Hills Officers were dispatched to Rainbow Gulch Trail for another burglary where an abandoned vehicle was found in the roadway in front of the house and later reported as a stolen vehicle. Another vehicle was stolen from that house and has not been recovered.

Brairgate Blvd. at Bannister Court
Location
Officers and EMS responded to, and investigated, a reported traffic crash involving a rollover on Briargate Blvd. at Bannister Court. The investigation determined that a Jeep Cherokee was travelling east bound on Briargate Blvd. when the driver failed to follow a curve in the road and ran off the left side of the roadway. As it did, the Jeep rolled onto its right side and slid to rest against the side of a house, damaging the utility meter. Both occupants of the Jeep were able to climb out with the assistance of witnesses and CSFD.
Both the driver, an 80 year old man, and the passenger, an 80 year old woman, were transported to an area hospital where they remain undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in the crash. Their injuries, while serious, are not considered life-threating at this time. The driver was cited for Careless Driving.

Northbound I-25 at Janitell Rd.
Location
On the above day and time, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a single vehicle rollover crash on I-25 at Janitell Rd. Upon arrival, officers found that the driver had been ejected from the vehicle and died on scene. There were no other occupants of the vehicle.

The Major Accident Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. It was determined that the vehicle was northbound on I-25 when it ran off the left side of the road, causing it to roll over. It has yet to be determined if excessive speed and/or drugs and alcohol are factors in this crash.

This is the 21st traffic related fatality in Colorado Springs this year while at this time last year there were 14. Northbound traffic on I-25 was diverted during this investigation. The traffic resumed its normal flow at approximately 10:45 am.
