On April 22, 2018, the Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Violent Crimes Homicide Unit arrested 19 year old Nashid Rayon Rivers on the charge of Murder in the First Degree. Nashid Rivers is the individual responsible for the shooting of two victims found in a vehicle in the 300 block of Bergamo Way (Bergamo Way and Lower Gold Camp Road) on April 21, 2018. The Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Violent Crimes Homicide Unit has obtained an arrest warrant on the charge of Murder in the First Degree for 34 year old William Camacho, Jr. Camacho is described as a Hispanic male 5í9Ē, 160-185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Camacho has a tattoo along his forehead hairline, which is visible when his hair is short. William Camacho, Jr. has been identified as the individual responsible for the shooting which occurred in the parking lot of 5100 Airport Road on April 22, 2018. Follow Twitter for photos.

On 04/24/2018 at approximately 12:24 AM, a business in the 4300 block of Austin Bluffs Parkway was robbed by a lone suspect with a revolver. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a mustache and was wearing a gray hoodie and a blue beanie or bandana on his head. The suspect left the scene with an unknown amount of money and was seen fleeing on foot northbound from the business. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any one in the area matching the suspect description. This is an open and active investigation.

Woodmen Road and Lexington Drive

On April 19, 2018, at approximately 12:52 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a two car crash at the intersection of Woodmen Road and Lexington Drive. Upon arrival officers found that a Toyota Camry was attempting a left hand turn from westbound Woodmen Road onto southbound Lexington Drive when it was struck by a Subaru, which was traveling eastbound on Woodmen Road. Investigation revealed both vehicles had a green light.

Both occupants of the Camry were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in this crash. On April 20, 2018, the front seat passenger, 84 year old Lois Wasserman of Colorado Springs, died as a result of her injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt during the time this collision occurred.

Ms. Wasserman is the 12th traffic related fatality in Colorado Springs this year, while at this time last year there were 11 fatalities. Neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol are considered factors in this crash. The crash is still under investigation. Charges pending.

Additionally, one of the men brought suspected methamphetamine to the location resulting in a felony arrest; this male was also on an ankle monitor for a previous felony conviction.

On April 22, 2018, at approximately 9:14 PM, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the 5100 block of Airport Road on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds, the male was transported to a local hospital with critical and life threatening injuries. The second victim is an adult female with obvious trauma and no signs of life. The Colorado Springs Fire Departmentís Paramedics confirmed the on scene death.

The Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for this investigation. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene. There is no current suspect information at the time of this release. This continues to be an active criminal investigation, with updates as appropriate.

On 04/22/2018 the Metro VNI Vice and Human Trafficking Unit was notified by patrol officers about a victim of Human Trafficking who was being extorted by her trafficker. Detectives met with the victim and were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Pimping (a class 3 felony) and Pandering (a class 3 misdemeanor). After further investigation, additional charges of Human Trafficking for Sexual Servitude (a class 3 felony), Extortion (a class 4 felony), and Keeping a Place of Prostitution (a class 2 misdemeanor) were added. Detectives located the suspect, identified as Joshua Weldon, near the intersection of N. Carefree and Tutt Blvd. Officers from the Stetson Hills Division contacted Weldon in a parking lot and took him into custody without incident.

Bergamo Way and Lower Gold Camp Road

On April 21, 2018, at approximately 12:29 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service reference a disturbance in the 4800 block of Pacer Lane. During the on scene interviews, officers learned information about a possible double shooting on the west side of Colorado Springs. With little specificity about the location and/or details, Gold Hill officers started searching a large area in the foothills of Colorado Springs.

On April 21, 2018, at approximately 9:20 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bergamo Way and Gold Camp Road. When officers arrived in the area, they discovered an adult male and an adult female inside the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds and no signs of life. The Colorado Springs Fire Department confirmed the deaths.

The Colorado Springs Police Departmentís Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for this investigation. This is a dynamic investigation; detectives are actively developing facts surrounding this death investigation.

On the above date and time the Colorado Springs Police Department were dispatched on a traffic crash at the intersection of S. Academy Bl and Pace Dr. The investigation is continuing at this time, and southbound Academy Bl is closed just north of Pace. Southbound traffic is being diverted into the access for Walmart Neighborhood Market, where vehicles can access Academy Bl just south of the accident.
