On the above date and time, Sand Creek officers were dispatched to 1800 Monterey Rd to respond to a shooting call for service. Officers arrived on scene to find the victim, conscience and breathing, with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The suspect, described by the victim as a Hispanic male, was no longer on scene. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital and treated for his injuries. The victim was shot in the thigh area causing a break in his femur. Officers checked the area and conducted neighborhood follow up, but have no additional suspect information at this time.

On the above date and time, Sand Creek officers were dispatched to Hancock Expressway and Circle Dr. to investigate a single motorcycle traffic accident. By the time officers arrived the driver was no longer on scene. According to witnesses, the driver suffered a head injury during this accident. Witnesses also state another individual on a motorcycle placed the driver on the rear on his motorcycle and left the area. Officer McGrath located that motorcycle near Hancock EY and Academy Blvd. Officer McGrath attempted to stop the driver, but the driver sped up and was last seen near Hancock EY and Milton Proby. The driver was taken to First Choice Hospital in Fountain, CO and then transferred to Memorial Hospital for his injuries. The driver was treated and released with minor injuries.

Further investigation revealed that there is probable cause to arrest the suspect Randall Hupp, a 60 year old male and a pick up has been placed (a probable cause affidavit for first degee assault)for the suspect. The suspect vehicle is a 2000 Audi,Black in color,4 dr. bearing Co License 724XXY. The suspect may be armed.






On the above date and time officers of the Sand Creek Division were dispatched on a reported shooting. Investigation revealed an adult female suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the hand. The wound is not considered life threatening. The investigation into the shooting is continuing at this time.

Officers Summey and McClellan conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle that did not have a license plate. The driver did not have ID, registration, insurance or any paperwork for the motorcycle. The driver gave a false name and later ran from the officers. A short foot pursuit ensued and the driver was taken into custody after he was tased. The driver was found to be in possesion of methamphetamine, cocain, heroin and marijuana. The driver was also a Habitual Traffic Offender. He also had two warrants. The driver was charged with the traffic charges, attempting to influence a public servant, and various narcotics charges.

200 block of E. Cimarron St.

On Friday, 07-03-2015, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a domestic disturbance occurring at a motel in the 200 block of E. Cimarron Street.

Upon arrival, officers determined 26-year-old Nicholas Godfrey had gone to the motel and taken his 3-year-old child in violation of an active protection order barring him from contact with the child.

Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Section immediately assumed the investigation and located Godfrey and his son at a bank in the 500 block of West Garden of the Gods Rd.

Nicholas Godfrey was arrested without incident and was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The child was returned to his mother.

Nicholas Godfrey will be booked at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on felony charges related to kidnapping and possession of methamphetamine.

In the late morning of July 3rd, 2015, CSPD officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Don Juan St., regarding two possible pipe bombs found and moved by a local resident. The man had reportedly observed children playing with the suspicious items prior to seizing them. Upon officers' arrival, it was determined the devices were commonly known as "sparkler bombs." The Colorado Springs Regional Explosives Unit responded and safely disarmed the two devices. The public is reminded that handling fireworks is potentially dangerous.

4000 Nonchalant Circle South

On 07/02/15, at about 12:53 p.m., CSPD IMPACT officers of the Stetson Hills Division responded to the 4000 block of Nonchalant Circle South to a report of a wanted fugitive seen walking in the area. The fugitive, a juvenile male, was wanted on three outstanding warrants consisting of two felonies and a misdemeanor. Officers developed a plan, with assistance from the CSPD K-9 unit, to contain the male within an area. Upon attempting contact, the male ran from officers. The K-9 handler issued loud and clear warnings for the male to stop, which went ignored. The K-9 was deployed and contact was made. The fugitive surrendered without further incident. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment of superficial injuries suffered during the K-9 contact.

On July 2, 2015, at approximately 4:30 AM, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service for a shooting. Officers responded to an apartment in the 5900 block of Vista Ridge Pt. where they located a deceased adult male inside the apartment.

An adult female was located inside the apartment and she was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. At this time, it appears that she does not have any injuries. The investigation is in the early stages and detectives are working to determine what occurred. There is not a threat to the community from this incident.
