Title |
Burglary of Motor Vehicle straight to victim's house for Burglary |
| Alert
Area |
Gold Hill |
Neighborhood |
West side |
| Alert
Description |
Victims in two BMV cases this last weekend discovered that not only had their vehicles been broken into, but when they returned home, their homes had been burglarized. The suspect/s in these cases obtained house keys and papers from the involved vehicle indicating where the victim lives, then immediately goes to the victim's residence and burglarizes their home.
Crime prevention tip: Many suspects have confessed to the police that they will avoid locked vehicles and vehicles that do not have something of value in plain sight. Lock all valuables in your trunk, if possible.
Also, suspects in these types of crimes often work in teams, reporting the movements of victims via cell phone and/or text messaging. Be aware of your surroundings. |
