NOTE - THE NOTED DISAPPROVED ITEMS MAY NOT CONSTITUTE A COMPLETE LIST OF VIOLATIONS. THE DESIGNER IS TO CONDUCT A COMPLETE RE-REVIEW OF THE PLANS FOR ADDITIONAL VIOLATIONS OF THE STANDARD COMMENTS AND INCORRECT INFORMATION PRIOR TO RESUBMITTING.

 System plans must be picked up within 30 days. All system plans left longer than 30 days will be discarded as abandoned.

5/10/2013 FYIREQUIRED INSPECTION. An inspection of the event is required. The inspection shall be conducted prior to the start of the event. The inspection is scheduled at the time of fee payment and plan pick-up. This is done by visiting the Office of the Fire Marshal at 375 Printers Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO, 80920 a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the event start date. FAILURE TO PAY FEES AND SCHEDULE INSPECTIONS IN TIME, MAY RESULT IN A DELAYED START OR DISALLOWANCE OF THE EVENT TO OCCUR. Provide the following information when scheduling the inspection: 1. The desired time of the inspection. All displays, stages, vendors and other structures and/or participants must be set-up. 2. The location at which the CSFD Inspector shall meet the event coordinator. 3. A phone number at which the event coordinator can be reached, at any time during the duration of the event.
IFire inspections to verify any exposed combustibles are adequately protected against ignition through retardants and/or other means.
AttentionExiting concerns have been corrected by adding an exit door in strategic locations as indicated on the plans.
AttentionLocations of requested devices are now shown on the plans.
AttentionSmoke alarm locations are shown on the plans. Smoke alarms being installed are Kidde Wireless Model RF-SM-OC. Smoke alarms will be installed and ready for testing prior to fire inspection.
FYIMissing items from the written fire plan have now been provided in the plan.
FYIThe exhibit has a PA system which will be used during emergencies as well as other times.
4/23/2013 DisapprovedIn verifying the exit distances, there is one exit distance out of Area 30 - Judaica Exhibit. However upon measuring it as well as adding up segments along the exiting path, the exiting is approximately 280 feet and not 241 feet as indicated. The maximum exiting distance for a sprinklered building is 250 feet. Please modify the plans accordingly or provide clarification as to how the 241 foot number is being derived.
DisapprovedThis exhibit requires smoke detection. Please provide the ata sheets for the smoke alarms being used as well as a ceiling plan showing the locations of the smoke alarms. During our initial site visit, it was noted that the building didn't have smoke detection and that there are smoke alarms available that may be interconnected wireless.
DisapprovedThe Fire Action Plan indicates that an announcement will be made in the event of an emergency. How will announcements be made in the building? Is there a P.A. system? Please clarify.
DisapprovedProvide a section in the emergency evacuation document regarding evacuation drills. For Assembly occupancies (as this event is considered) employees are required to participate in quarterly evacuation drills.
DisapprovedThe Fire Action Plan does not indicate dialing 9-1-1 immediately for any emergency. Please add "Dial 9-1-1" to all scenarios as the first task. There should not be any delay in contacting the fire department, even if the alarm is sounding.
DisapprovedWhat are the procedures for patron and employee accountability after an evacuation? Please provide this in the emergency response document.
DisapprovedProvide a plan that indicates locations of the following: - fire extinguishers - exit signage - lighting/sound controls - sprinkler control valves - fire alarm panels - any major hazards either associated with the exhibit or inherent to the building
