 System plans must be picked up within 30 days. All system plans left longer than 30 days will be discarded as abandoned.

PLEASE plan ahead - call your inspections in with ample time to allow adequate scheduling. When calling, please have your complete CSFD plan review number(s) ready for each inspection request. ( For Example: 2005-1234- HS-2) The CSFD APPROVED sets of plans SHALL be on site for all inspections.

FYI(STANDARD COMMENT) REVIEWS: Colorado Springs Fire Department construction reviews are based upon information provided on the drawings and/or the attached reference material. Issues or features that are not presented within the construction documents are assumed to be complaint with applicable codes/standards. It is the responsibility of the building owner to ensure that minimum code requirement are met as established by the Authority Having Jurisdiction, whether of not the requirements are specifically indicated on the submitted construction documents. The CSFD has reviewed the submittal in accordance with the fire code requirements of the 2003 International Fire Code, CSFD local amendments, City Code Standards, and applicable NFPA Standards. All plan review comments are subject to final on-site field inspections, and testing by the CSFD. Review and approval by the CSFD shall not relieve the applicant of the responsibility of compliance with the International Fire Code. (105.4.4)

FYI*****(13) FIRE DEPARTMENT CONNECTION: FDCs shall be located in a CSFD approved location. The FDC shall be located on the front entrance and/or addressed side of the structure, fully visible and recognizable from the street. FDCs shall be location such that it is not blocked by any means or located behind parked vehicles and such that fire apparatus and hoses connected to the FDC do not obstruct access to building for other fire apparatus. FDCsshall be located within 40-ft of an approved fire department access road. There shall be a fire hydrant capable of supplying the fire flow requirements for the sprinkler system within 100 feet of the FDC. FDCs shall be mounted not less than 18-inches and not more than 4-foot above the level of the adjacent grade or access level. (NFPA 14:6.4.6) NOTE: FDC IS PERMITTED TO EXCEED 100-FT TO A FIRE HYDRANT FOR THIS PROJECT. ADDING A HYDRANT, PLACES ONE WITHIN 120-FEET OF AN EXISTING FIRE HYDRANT, ADDING SIGNIFICANT COST TO A SMALL STRUCTURE, THAT IS NOT REQUIRED TO BE FIRE SPRINKLERED BASED ON SQUARE FOOTAGE (OCCUPANT LOAD IS NOT YET KNOWN)

Also: 1) Review all redline comments and address each one. 2) Return ALL red lined plan sets for each re-review.
Disapproved(DISAPPROVED) BUILDING DATA The "BUILDING DATA" information must be provided for each building, and should be indicated inside the footprint layout of the building, or just next to the footprint, and on each of your plan sheets that are to be signed by CSFD: Please refer to our Water Supplies Information packet for the required information/template.
