Auditorium does not actually have two levels. It is all one level and there are two exits...1 upper and 1 lower. This actually changes the occupantload from 392 to 298. 2. Flame Spread Ratings: A. Wood Plank FSR 20 B. Felt Spacers FSR 25 C. Valance Drapery, Draw Curtain, Rigging and Draper, State Drapery (all same fabric) FSR 0 D. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics on 11 61 33 - 5 was just telling contractor to provide above flame spread ratings. ALL FLAME SPREAD RATINGS ABOVE WERE VERIFIED BY REVIEWER FROM MANUFACTURER'S SPEC SHEETS.

Remember that all extinguishers must be installed in highly visible and accessible locations, never in a dead-end area, and always try to place them near an exit path-way or at an exit(s). Mount 4" off floor to a maximum of 5 ft. to the top of the fire extinguisher. Attention(STANDARD COMMENT) HAZ-MAT REVIEW REQUIRED It appears that hazardous materials may be located on site. Your plans have been forwarded to the HazMat reviewer. If hazardous materials exceed exempt amounts, you will also be required to submit a Hazardous Material Management Plan for annual permitting. Additional tank installation permits and plan reviews may also be required. Check with the CSFD for details.
FYI(STANDARD COMMENT) FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM PLANS Applicable Fire Protection System (fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fixed fire) plans shall be submitted to the CSFD Construction Services office in the Development Review Enterprise at the Regional Development Center 2880 International Circle
FYI(STANDARD COMMENT) FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM PLANS NOT REVIEWED There were fire detection and/or suppression system plans attached to the construction plans, however, they were not reviewed due to lack of specification sheets, calculations, etc. The sub-contractors for these systems must submit these plans for our review, and obtain separate permits from the CSFD for the instillation of all fire detection and suppression systems. No work is allowed to begin without proper permits.
FYI(STANDARD COMMENT) INSPECTIONS A minimum of 2-business days notice is required for all inspections. Due to work loads, holidays, meetings, vacations, etc...the CSFD cannot guarantee a 2-business day turnaround on all inspections. PLEASE help yourself by helping us - call your inspections in with ample time to allow adequate scheduling. When calling, please have your complete CSFD plan review number(s) ready for each inspection request. ( i.e. 20001234 - HM -2 or 20000012 - CN - 1) The CSFD Approved sets of plans are to be on site for all inspections.

The occupant load of the "Upper Level" of the auditorium is at least 298, requiring two exits. It appears there is only one. Please clarify. 2. Are "Upper Level" and "Lower Level" of auditorium two actual levels or merely divided by a cross aisle? 3. We will need the flame spread rating on: a. Acoustical wood plank panel assemblies 09 74 13 - 1 b. Felt Spacers - Acoustically clear fabric, color-black 09 74 13 - 3 c. Valance Drapery 11 61 33 - 1 d. Draw curtain 11 61 33 - 1 e. Rigging and Drapery 11 61 33 - 2 f. Stage Drapery 11 61 33 - 11 4. Issues or features that are not presented within the construction documents are assumed to be complaint with applicable codes/standards. It is the responsibility of the building owner to ensure that minimum code requirement are met as established by the Authority Having Jurisdiction, whether of not the requirements are specifically indicated on the submitted construction documents. The CSFD has reviewed the submittal in accordance with the fire code requirements of the 2003 International Fire Code, CSFD local amendments, City Code Standards, and applicable NFPA Standards. All plan review comments are subject to final on-site field inspections, and testing by the CSFD.

4/2/2010 AttentionReceived SonaSpray "fc" Spray on Acoustical Finish specification guide from Matt Vineyard of JE Dunn on 04/02/10. Contact numbers are (Business 719-884-4459) and (Mobile 719-510-3839). The SonaSpray will be applied in the science classrooms under renovation to reduce the echo in the classrooms. CSFD requested specifications to confirm the Flame Spread Index and Smoke Developed are within the guidelines set by the 2006 IBC and IFC. SonaSpray's index ratings per ASTM E-84 are as follows: Flame spread index: 5 Smoke developed: 5 Sonaspray's interior finish rating therefore is an A. Section 803.5 in the 2006 IBC requires that all rooms and enclosed spaces shall not have a flame spread index greater than a C in Group B occupancies. APPROVED JAH 04/02/10
11/16/2009 FYIRESUBMITTED: The plans have been re-submitted, and the disapproved issues have been addressed as follows: **PLEASE NOTE** ALL COMMENTS FOUND ON PREVIOUS PLAN REVIEWS REMAIN ENFORCEABLE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED IN THIS REVIEW. 1) A hazardous materials Plan review has been completed and approved pending the review by the State Plan reviewer. Kay 11/16/09 2) The Generator Tank installation permit has not been submitted for review as of this date. Hazardous Materials Plan comments address the requirement to submit a tank installation permit to the CSFD. SEE Hazardous Materials Comments. Plan reviewer spoke with Matt of JE Dunn, (GC) regarding the requirement for the tank application and supporting documents. Matt stated that West Electric would be applying for permit.

ApprovedElevators are existing - there shouldn't be any change in fire protection or programming on them. Skylight - sprinklers are required in the skylight in accordance with NFPA 13, 2007 edition. Ceiling Clouds - sprinklers are required under the clouds in accordance with NFPA 13, 2007 edition. Generator - A new generator will be replacing the old one. Will be fueled by diesel Transformer - next to generator.

Disapproved(STANDARD COMMENT 70) HAZARDOUS MATERIAL- SUBMIT INFORMATION Provide listed information on the haz-mat permit amount certification form for all Use/Dispensing/Storage of Hazardous Materials and Flammable Liquids that will be used within this facility. Provide information on all types, quantities (both in use and in storage), used at the site. This would include swimming pool/spa/whirlpool chemicals.
