10/15/2009 ApprovedThis plan review includes both the suppression and the fire alarm components of this system.
FYI*****(STANDARD COMMENT 5) The special hazard suppression system is being installed by: Western States Fire Protection This plan review is based on the requirements found within the 2003 editions of the International Building Code, International Fire Code and the most recent editions of the NFPA standards as applicable.

Attention*****(STANDARD COMMENT 7) NOTE NOTE - The following RED-LINED items are to be corrected prior to final inspection: 1) Contractor indicates smoke detectors can NOT actually send "supervisory" signal but will need to send "alarm" to the panel. This will NOT activate building evacuation alarm except in sequence as noted on matrix. This has been agreed to by CSFD Construction Services Review (dew/rce).

DisapprovedThe following information and/or corrections are needed prior to completing a full plan review. Please respond, in writing, to each of the following comments: 1) Add plan review number 2009-0838-FF-1 to plans 2) Battery Calculations: Where did you get the alarm current draw for the Releasing Control Panel? Please highlight the number in the cut-sheets. 3) Battery Calculations: The horn/strobe shows a MT model. However, the cut-sheets provide information for the AS/AH Models. The current draws do not match. Please correct. 4) Battery Calculations: 24hours of supervisory are required, plans state you will be providing 60 hours. Verify this is correct. 5) Matrix: AC Power loss requires a 1-3 hr delay in reporting. 6) Matrix: Verify CRAC Unit/Dampers will close for an alarm. 7) Matrix: See attached packet for Cross-Zoned systems sequence. a) first smoke detector shall send a supervisory to the panel, not an alarm. Building alarm will NOT activate until 2nd smoke detector is activated. b) 2nd smoke detector shall send an alarm to the panel, and will activate the eminent discharge bell. c) 30 second timer will also send an alarm to the panel. d) the matrix shows the first alarm is the H/S and the second alarm is the bells. Is this correct or should it be switched? e) Verify the horn/strobes in the rooms will activate upon general alarm from the rest of the building. 8) Ensure the double doors aren't capable of opening fully, so that the pull stations would be blocked. 9) Plans show there will be an inergen nozzle in the UPS Room. Anytime there is a clean agent introduced into an area, there must be proper notification, etc. in that room. Why is there no abort switch, pull station, h/s, etc in this room? Also review the disapproved plans for additional written comments prior to submittal of new plans.
AttentionNOTE - THE NOTED DISAPPROVED ITEMS MAY NOT CONSTITUTE A COMPLETE LIST OF VIOLATIONS. THE DESIGNER IS TO CONDUCT A COMPLETE RE-REVIEW OF THE PLANS FOR ADDITIONAL VIOLATIONS OF THE STANDARD AND INCORRECT INFORMATION PRIOR TO RESUBMITTING.
