AttentionCOMBUSTIBLE AND FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS Note: No Class I Flammable liquids are reported in storage or retail display at this facility. 2003 IFC CHAPTER 34 Flammable and combustible liquids in Group M occupancy wholesale and retail sales uses shall be in accordance with Sections 3404.3.6.1 through 3404.3.6.5, or NFPA 30 Sections 4.4.3.3, 4.5.6.7, 4.8.2, Tables 4.8.2(a) through (f), and Figures 4.8.2(a) through (d). 2003 IFC CHAPTER 34 - Containers for Class I liquids shall be metal, except in sprinklered buildings, an aggregate quantity of 120 gallons of water-miscible Class IB and Class IC liquids is allowed in nonmetallic containers, each having a capacity of 16 ounces or less. - Containers for Class I liquids shall not exceed a capacity of 5 gallons, except, metal containers not exceeding 55 gallons up to 240 gallons of the maximum allowable quantity for Class IB and IC liquids in a control area. -Building shall be equipped throughout with an approved automatic sprinkler system in accordance with Table 3404.3.4.1. - Class I Containers shall be provided with plastic caps without cap seals and shall be stored upright. - Class I Containers shall not be stacked or stored in racks and shall not be located in areas accessible to the public.
AttentionCOMBUSTIBLE AND FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS STORAGE AND DISPLAY SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTIONS 2703.11.3.1 THROUGH 2703.11.3.10 of IFC 2003, as amended. Fire protection and container storage arrangements shall be in accordance with IFC 2003 Table 3404.3.6.3(1): Sprinklered area: Class IB, IC, II-- max height 8 feet; Class IIIA & IIIB max height 12 feet. or the following: - Storage on shelves shall not exceed 6 feet in height, and shelving shall be metal. - Storage on pallets or in piles greater than 4 feet 6 inches (1372 mm) in height, or where the ceiling exceeds 18 feet in height, shall be protected in accordance with Table 3404.3.6.3(4), and the storage heights and arrangements shall be limited to those specified in Table 3404.3.6.3(2). - Storage on racks greater than 4 feet 6 inches in height, or where the ceiling exceeds 18 feet in height shall be protected in accordance Colorado Springs Fire Code, 2003 with Tables 3404.3.6.3(5), 3404.3.6.3(6), and 3404.3.6.3(7) as appropriate, and the storage heights and arrangements shall be limited to those specified in Table 3404.3.6.3(3). - Combustible commodities shall not be stored above flammable and combustible liquids. - All containers shall be provided with a warning indicator stating the liquid is flammable, and shall be kept away from heat and an open flame. - An aisle and storage plans shall be submitted in accordance with Chapter 27.

FYIEquipment, machinery, and required detection and alarm systems associated with the use, storage, or handling of hazardous materials shall be listed or approved. This requirement is subject to verification at the time of the Hazardous materials Inspection prior to signing the Fire Final.
FYILabeling - An NFPA 704 compliant Hazard Placard is required for each pedestrian entry door rooms containing hazardous materials in excess of the exempt amounts (this door could be interior or exterior) and all such doors shall be included. The minimum size of the Hazard Placard shall be 15" by 15". This requirement is subject to verification at the time of the Hazardous materials Inspection prior to signing the Fire Final.
INOTE TO FIRE INSPECTOR: Prior to scheduling the Fire Final please contact the Hazardous Materials Inspector to arrange a Hazardous Materials Inspection prior to final signature being provided.
FYIA minimum of 1 set of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), hard copy, must be readily availiable on the premises at all times.
