10/7/2009 FYIRESUBMITTED: The plans have been re-submitted, and the disapproved issues have been addressed as follows: APPROVED. **PLEASE NOTE** ALL COMMENTS FOUND ON PREVIOUS PLAN REVIEWS REMAIN ENFORCEABLE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED IN THIS REVIEW. 1) A Hazardous Materials Permit Amount Certification Form has been provided and declares that this facility is below permit threshold amounts. 2) A 300 to 450 lbs Carbon dioxide mini bulk vessel (below 6000 cf) for beverage dispensing will be installed exterior to the building in a service yard; plan sheet 101 for location. 3) Refrigerants are declared well below the threshold amounts. 4) Based on the restaurant Hazardous materials in use and storage the restaurant is not required to apply for an annual operational HMMP permit. However, the gas station/fuel dispensing portion of this facility will require a minimum of 2 PERMITS. 1) An underground storage tank application for permit shall be completed and submitted to the CSFD prior to all tank installations. 2) An Annual Operational Hazardous Materials Permit shall be applied for on the web based HAMISH permit program website @ http://eoc.springsgov.com/hamish/ Fuel dispensing service stations are required to be permitted by the IFC 2003, as amended.

Additional Comments: Fuel Station canopy was NOT part of the CN-1 review since CN plans indicated it was a separate permit. THIS REVIEW IS FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. ATTENTION: See our web site for our latest fire department plan review comments. From the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department web site (www.pprbd.org), select "RELATED WEB SITES" in the upper right corner. Click on Colorado Springs FIRE PREVENTION. Then select PLAN REVIEW STATUS, click VIEW PLAN REVIEW STATUS. Scroll down to the correct address. You may then select APPROVED/DISAPPROVED to view comments associated with that particular project.
AttentionNote: the Pikes Peak Regional Building Code Study form indicates that the scope of this project does NOT include Hazardous Materials. However, restaurants may have materials classified as hazardous materials that may include but not limited to: refrigerants for coolers and freezers and Carbon Dioxide cylinders used in beverage dispensing. Please resubmit plans with a declaration of all hazardous materials by classification and quantities. FYIRESPONSIBILITY: Our reviews are based upon and limited to the information presented on the drawings and/or the specific materials submitted. Matters not presented within the construction documents submitted, nor items not requested for review, which are required for the granting of permits by the CSFD, are assumed to be reviewed and inspected by others, and not to be considered as part of this review unless noted otherwise herein. No responsibility or duty is accepted, implied, or extended to, for, and/or resulting from construction in any phase, form or manner. The review of these plans does not relieve the architect, contractor, or building owner from designing and building the structure per nationally recognized good standards, and all code and standard requirements. Code and standard requirements are not necessarily noted on the plans, in the plan review comment sheets, or not noted during inspections are still required to be provided and installed so that the building construction is installed in full compliance with all applicable codes and standards. We have reviewed the submittal in accordance with the fire code requirements of the 2003 International Fire Code, CSFD local amendments, City Code Standards, applicable NFPA Standards, and using good fire protection practices. All plan review comments are subject to final on-site field inspections, and testing by the CSFD.
FYICORRECTIONS. All corrections and comments are to be submitted back to CSFD in writing, or provide submittal sheets/drawings/ blueprints etc. as requested, to complete the review. Corrections are not accepted over the phone, via fax, or verbally.
