ATTENTION: "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" signs may need to be posted too properly identify where the units are located if they're not highly visible. IMPORTANT: Do not install ext's. at "the back" of a room/area - this may cause a user to become trapped with no exit near by. Place them near an exit door, or in the path to an exit way.

| FYI | ACCESS GENERAL - Fire department access roads shall be maintained and kept unobstructed at all times, and in all types of weather.
Access roads shall be extended to within 150 feet of all first story exterior portions of any building.5. Cul-de-sacs must not exceed 500 feet in length without C.S.F.D. approval. Turnaround provisions must meet the design criteria as specified in the C.S.F.D. Development and Construction guidelines (as stated through Article 10 of the Uniform Fire Code).
Street grades may not be greater than those permitted by CSFD. In HILLSIDE areas the absolute maximum street grade allowed is 12%. All other areas the maximum grade is 10%.
Dead-end access roads in excess of 200 feet shall be provided with an approved fire department turnaround.
Cul-de-sacs may not exceed 500 feet in length without CSFD approval. Turnaround provisions must meet the design criteria as specified in the Fire Department Access Information Packet available from the Fire Prevention Bureau. Cul-de-sac must be a minimum of 96 feet wide, and intermediate turnarounds may be required. |

| FYI | FIRE LANE SIGNS: If the land developer has not installed fire lane signs in accordance with the CSFD requirements, it MAY hold up you certificate of occupancy. Make sure that required fire lane sings are installed prior to your final fire inspection.
Signs shall be posted on both sides of Fire Department access roadways less than 28 feet wide, and on one side of roadways 28 feet wide but less than 34 feet wide. | FYI | DEVELOPMENT (HIGH/VERY HIGH/EXTREME)
Based upon the approved development plan this lot has been identified as "High/Very High/Extreme" on the Colorado Springs Fire Department Wildfire Behavior Index. "NONCOMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION" is required for use as specifically enabled by the Uniform Fire Code.
1. All exposed exterior surfaces, appendages, and projections shall be of noncombustible materials.
Noncombustible as applied to building construction materials, is any material that, in the form in which it is used and under the conditions anticipated, will not ignite and burn nor add appreciable heat to an ambient fire.
2. Windows within exterior doors, exterior windows, window walls, skylights and glazed doors shall be tempered safety glass or multi-layered glazed panels.
3. Attic and soffit vents shall be screened with wire mesh with openings no larger than 1/8-inch.
4. Chimneys serving fireplaces, barbecues, incinerators, or decorative heating appliances in which solid or liquid fuel is used shall be provided with a spark arrester. Spark arresters shall be constructed of woven or welded wire screening of 12 USA standard gage wire-having openings not exceeding 1/2-inch.
