Built sometime around 1895, this is a fairly intact example of smaller-scale Queen Anne style architecture as reflected in its decorative shingles, octagonal tower, elaborately ornamented porch, tall windows and parlor window with colored glass.
The earliest known occupants were Franklin P and Julia A. Smith; Franklin was a contractor. This house and the surrounding residences are vestiges of an early working class neighborhood.
