This house is representative of the bungalow type dwellings with Craftsman style features erected during the early twentieth century in Colorado Springs. Elements reflecting the style include the gable roof with overhanging eaves and exposed rafters, the full-height chimney flanked by small windows, the gable faces with stucco and half-timbering, the combination of shingled walls and stone foundation, the gabled porch with tapered columns and solid balustrade, and the multi/single-light double-hung sash windows.
The house was built around 1915, and the earliest recorded occupant was Pat O'Brien. In 1946, the garage was remodeled into a cottage. Over the next twenty years, the cottage at the rear and the basement were rented out to a succession of occupants, while the house was used as a residence. In 1965, the house was occupied by an advertising business. Locally significant.
