This house is part of the residential area developed by the Russian artist and real estate developer Benjamin Lefkowsky in the 1920's in Colorado Springs. The area is noted for its landscape and scenic qualities, overlooking Monument Valley Park and the Front Range. Lefkowsky apparently lived in some of the homes he developed until they were sold to others; he and his wife resided here in 1929.
Picturesque design and ample landscaping characterize the residences on Zyder Zee. This building, constructed about 1926, is an example of Mediterranean Revival style, with an irregular footprint, front gable roof dormer, central brick chimney, cantilevered shed roof balcony and oversized, decoratively shaped wood braces. The rounded arched entrance is accompanied the two small round arched four-light windows. Locally significant.
