This 1892 house is associated with the Burgess family in Colorado Springs, and is representative of the Queen Anne style dwellings popular in the late 19th Century. Built by Willard Burgess, the son of Charles H. Burgess, this house was built west of and four years after the father's house, located at 730 North Nevada Avenue. Willard Burgess operated a successful grocery business.
The Queen Anne style is reflected in the asymmetrical façade, multiple gables, decorative shingles, walls clad with a combination of shingles and weatherboard siding, variety of windows and prominent porch. Converted to an apartment building by 1931, it now serves as a restaurant. Locally significant.
