This house represents one of the larger late Victorian residences on North Nevada Avenue, which were home to prominent Colorado Springs families. Cripple Creek mine owner and investor Frank F. Castello lived here at the turn of the century. Like many of the larger dwellings in the area, the house served as a multi-family residence in subsequent years.
Built prior to 1895, the building retains features of its late Victorian design, including multiple gambrel and gabled roofs, shingles and horizontal siding, a stone foundation, a variety of windows, and classical porch columns. Locally significant.
