This building is associated with the growth in popularity of apartment buildings in downtown Colorado Springs at the turn of the century. This building is representative of the apartments of that era in the city in its brick and stone construction, flat roof, two-story height and classical details. The building reflects the terrace style multi-family building in its multiple porches and repetition of design elements, and has Classical Revival features. The building reflects the quality materials and construction of early buildings in the city.
Built in 1902 by J. F. Murray, it attracted professional workers. In later years, it began to house offices and shops. National Register eligible.
