This small commercial building has housed numerous retail businesses over the years, including luggage, stationery, and jewelry stores. Built sometime between 1900 and 1907, it survived the fire that destoyed the adjacent McIntyre building in 1958. Its original appearance is unknown.

In 1947, Martin Jewelers, which had operated for twelve years at 121 North Tejon Street, moved to this location. A modern storefront, composed of finished oak with black finish, curved windows and aluminum trim was installed. Paneled metal pilasters appear at either end of the storefront; the base of the south pilaster displays the Hassell Iron Works Co. name. Locally significant.
