This building is representative of a foursquare type dwelling in the Colonial Revival style, reflected in the boxy shape, hipped roof with front dormer, symmetrical composition, oval window and classical porch columns. Additional features include the shingled wall, rhyolite stone foundation, and oriel windows on the side walls.

Built sometime prior to 1909, Brooks and Leona B. Irione were the first and long-time residents of the property. Brooks was a mail carrier for the post office who contracted the Spanish Influenza in 1918 and never fully recovered his health, although he lived until 1944. Locally significant.
