The City Center subarea of downtown contains
much of the original townsite of the city, and its buildings
compose much of the downtown core. Churches, banks, governmental
offices and commercial blocks evidence the benefits associated
with the Cripple Creek mining district. Other influences,
associated with the railroad industry and the early health
industry, are displayed. Finally, some vestiges of early
residential neighborhoods provide a glimpse of life at the turn of
the century. |
