City of Colorado Springs / Land Use Review / Signs
Sign Information
Signs are allowed throughout the City of Colorado Springs however the size and type of signs vary depending on the zone district and amount of acreage. All signs must be stationary and secured to the ground or building. Portable or movable signs, blimps used as signs, signs which may be confused with official traffic signs, signs placed on a vehicle or a movable device that is used as a sign and flashing or animated signs are prohibited.
Prior to installation, all signs, except for specified temporary signs and window signs, require that an approved sign plan be approved, a building permit obtained and installed by a licensed sign contractor. Plans for signs are reviewed by the Development Review Enterprise. For specific sign information, the Development Review Enterprise office is located at 2880 International Circle or can be contacted directly at 385-5982.
