How do I complete the Photo Lab Services form?
Fill in all blank, highlighted fields on the form. All of the required information will be in the accident or criminal case report you receive from our Records and ID Section.

How much will it cost?
Cost depends on whether you order a compact disk or printed photographs. The prices are listed on the form and will give you a good idea of what the cost will be. A good rule of thumb is if you order a compact disk, you will rarely pay more than $15 for your entire case. Do not estimate costs or submit payment with your request. You will be notified of the total cost upon completion of your request.

Accepted forms of payment?
Currently, the only forms of payment that we are able to accept are check and money order. You will need to come in person to pick up and pay for your photo request with a check or money order and a current, state-issued driver?s license for verification purposes. If you would like them mailed to you, postage is an additional $3.50 per request.

What is included?
The only thing that the Metro Forensic Laboratory is able to provide for your photo requests is the 35mm photos, Polaroid photos and/or digital images taken by the officer (s) who responded to the call. Our Photo Laboratory only has photos and digital images from the Colorado Springs Police Department and, in some cases, the El Paso County Sheriff?s Office. All other law enforcement agencies will need to be contacted by you directly.

All videos, surveillance video, mug shots, photographs taken from a scene or seized as evidence, any official police reports from responding officers or detectives, sketches and drawings and notes from responding officers must be requested from their respective Unit.

How long will it take?
Due to the large volume of photos requests received weekly by the Photo Lab, under normal circumstances, your request can take up to but should take no longer than two weeks.
