Vacancies:
Vacancies are posted on our jobs site, City Careers. Vacancies for certain positions are advertised in the Gazette and Denver Post, which are most frequently used for advertising in the region. Vacancies may also be advertised in other local area newspapers, (including minority newspapers and trade journals) through local agencies like the Pikes Peak Workforce Center, and selected Internet sites. Note: Certain clerical positions at the City are filled through a clerical eligibility process and are not posted on the website. Please see the Clerical Employment page for more information.
 
Application Process:
The City of Colorado Springs has an online job application system. It uses state-of-the-art technology which gives our candidates greater flexibility in the application process.
  • Applications are only accepted through our online application system.
  • Human Resources will not accept or consider applications that are mailed, emailed, faxed, or dropped off at our office.
Features of the online application system include:
  • Allowing you to create your own unique User ID and password.
  • Allowing you to save your application information in the system and update it as your skills or personal information change.
  • Each time you apply for a position, you'll have the opportunity to review and update your application information.
  • Note: The online application offers you the opportunity to include your resume; however you must complete all of the relevant fields on the application.  If you paste your resume but do not complete the application, your application may not be considered.  Do not use "see resume" in the application. 
 
Important items to note about CityCareers:
  • If you don't have access to the Internet at home, you can find computers with Internet access at public libraries or at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center.
  • The deadline to submit an online application is 11:59 p.m. MST on the closing date specified in the job announcement.
  • Information provided from prospective applicants for City job openings may be subject to release upon request under the Colorado Open Records Act.
  • The City may use your information to conduct background checks, reference checks or other activities related to the City's normal hiring process.
  • The City does not sell information about our applicants to any third parties.
  • Our online application operates on a secure server to ensure your privacy. Employment applications are accepted for current openings only.
