Multi-Use Event Center

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The City of Colorado Springs released today the economic feasibility study, “Market & Economic Impacts of Relocating Sky Sox Stadium to Downtown”. The City hired Summit Economics, LLC earlier this year to forecast the market and economic impact of a potential Downtown Stadium and Multi-Use Event Center in Colorado Springs, the details of which are included in the attached report.

The complete feasibility study will be released to the public following the formal submission of the City’s application to the State of Colorado under the Regional Tourism Act, which is due Monday, July 8th. The application includes a proposal for four major projects that would increase tourism from out-of-state. The Regional Tourism Act program allows for local governments to receive a rebate from the State of new, or incremental, State sales tax revenues that are created by unique and extraordinary projects that increase tourism.
