Chief Smith began his fire service career in 1991 with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Tommy has served in many positions during his career that include firefighter, paramedic, lieutenant, captain, and battalion chief with work assignments in the Operations Division, Medical Division, and Training Division. As Deputy Chief, Tommy will oversee Support Services which includes the Training Division, Medical Division, Division of the Fire Marshal, Fleet and Facilities, Human Resources, Public Communications and Community Education. Chief Smith holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management in Human Resources. Tommy has been married to his wife, Andrea, for 21 years and has three daughters.
